Izanami, an upset Japanese student

Izanami hated school in America. Having to move with her family away from all of her friends and the culture she had known all her life would be shocking enough for anyone, but every day brought a new struggle for her.

Izanami had been learning English in her old school, but the lessons were subpar, and they didn’t take well. She had gotten better at English in the last year, but it was imperfect and many students would either mock her or accent. English, while not hard to learn from a proper teacher, would just never be her primary language. She hoped to move back to Japan whenever she could, but there were also days where she wanted payback and hoping she could be the one to lord over the other students in her class.

And it was when she was in that mood, on a rainy day, that the book fell in front of her window.
