Chapter 10

What is Tory’s plan to recover the memory card? Can she also manage to prevent the film-crew to see her ass, or at least make sure it doesn’t end up on tv?

Itsy Bitsy Freakout

Tory carefully snuck out the door to the attic and looked around, knowing that she had to get the memory card away from the TV crew a literally save her own ass. Taking the stairs down to the second floor, Tory peeked over the railing to see Seth at a lab top and Kelly setting up a tripod.

"Okay," Kelly said, "on three... Two... One... Now!"

"Ladies and Gentlemen," Ashley said into the camera, "our first episode has so far been quite exciting. Just mere moments ago, we began filming when we heard a loud crashing from the attic on the third floor. When we went to investigate, we found the camera we had placed up there earlier smashed to pieces with only the memory card still intact. And if my colleagues and I are to be correct," Ashley smiled widely in excitement, "we may have just caught our poltergeist! How are things going, Seth?!"

"Just a second, this piece of junk is still booting up." Seth grumbled in annoyance, "Studio couldn't even spring for a functioning computer, the cheap..."

"In the meantime," Kelly said, "I think we should try another EVP session. Just to see if other spirits are in the building."

"'Other spirits'?" Tory asked herself, listening in carefully.

"Oh, right. The Bride of Chesterfields Manor." Ashley commented, turning back to the camera. "According to legend, Elizabeth Chesterfields, born 1930 and died 1952, was waiting for her soon to be husband, Jonathan Monroe, to arrive and pick her up so they could elope. She had even stolen her younger sister's wedding dress days before she was supposed to be married. Unfortunately, Jonathan wasn't the man Elizabeth thought he was, as he snuck through the back door and struck her down with a kitchen knife, making it look like a suicide so he could steal the family fortune. And now, it's said, that she stalks these very halls looking for -"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Seth said, getting up from the computer and holding up his hands. "Why am I the last to know about this one?!"

"Seth. It's a story people tell each other on Halloween." Ashley said flatly, "Besides, the real incident reports stated that Elizabeth broke her neck after falling down the stairs. Everyone knows that!"

"Not for long..." Tory whispered with a smirk as she finally thought up a plan...

Only to don a look of confusion as she felt a series of tiny legs walking up her back through the dress. Looking over her shoulder, Tory noticed a large wolf spider coming to a stop at her mid back. Now, the rational side of Tory told her that this species was harmless, looking to eat roaches and other insect pests with a venom that posed no threat to humans.

But the part of Tory that suffered from **** arachnophobia...?

"If there is anyone here, could you please give us a sign?" Kelly asked, beginning the EVP session.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! GO AWAY!"

That outburst made Kelly drop the recorder as Ashley and Seth looked up in surprise. "W-what was that?"

"Elizabeth Chesterfields!" Ashley called out. "If that is either you or the poltergeist, can you let us -"

"GET OOOOOOOOOOOUT!" The voice shrieked, making Seth cower.

"GET OUT! GET OUT! GET OUT!" Tory screamed as she jumped around, practically ripping the dress apart as she tried to get the spider out. "GET OUT OF MY -"

*Creeeek*

"Uh oh..." Tory whimpered as she heard that noise. Within seconds, the woman fell through the floor and landed into the kitchen below. Thankfully, several ancient bags of flour broke her fall, cover her from head to toe in flour as she staggered back to her feet and coughed.

"Record everything! Don't miss a single second!" Ashley called out as she headed for the kitchen.

"Ashley! Wait!" Seth called out nervously as he and Kelly followed after her, the latter grabbing the camera as she followed her coworkers.

Tory groaned as she rubbed her head. Looking at a mirror of some kind, the young woman could see that she was covered from head to toe in dust and flour. And the dress looked like it had seen better days, now looking like an elegantly designed crop top and miniskirt with how much she tore away in an effort to get rid of the spider.

And that was when the three ghost hunters entered the kitchen...

How do the ghost hunters react? How does Tory?
