It was a close one but

You both stand a good distance apart trying to both think what is going to be your first move, finally you release Mizu and Green let's out Nidoran.

"Ok Royale! Ok hit the Poliwag with poison sting."

As Green's Nidoran came out raring to fight you were reminded that although most Pokemon maybe nice to their trainers they can look pretty intimidating when it's time to battle. As Royale scraped the ground with his front paw before charging straight at Mizu.

"Mizu use Bubble and stay away from the horn no matter what."

He fired a quick wave of bubbles but had to quickly get out of the way of the charging attack as Royale was able to quickly close the gap before too many bubbles were in his path, you bit your bottom lip as you watched Mizu dodge back and forth while Nidoran kept bucking his head forward trying to nail him with his horn.

"Quick! Dodge to the right and use hypnosis."

As Mizu's belly glowed Green gave the order to close his eyes, just what you were hopeing for.

"Now with his eyes closed use bubble. surround them with the stuff."

The little tadpole pokemon quickly stopped one attack to begin spraying the field. It didn't take long until there was a nice wall of the attack in front of Mizu, but before you could call out the next order, Royale jumped thought the attack his eyes still closed, as the bubbles popped with little flashes of light showing only a hint of how The innocuous looking attack could hurt. He just plowed through and nailed Mizu hard. You winced with each bounce your Pokemon made on the ground as he stopped a foot from you a decent sized purple gash over his white belly. You didn't need to think twice before returning him to his ball. Thankfully you knew you weren't too far away from the Pokemon center so he'd be healed of poison in no time.

"Go! Ash. Use ember."

As your Charmander came out Nidoran was already charging to nail him but fortunately Ash was pretty clever, waiting until he was almost on him before moving out-of-the-way and nailing him in the face with his flaming tail, as Royale stopped to wipe one of his paws over his face Ash at your call dealt a quick scratch and ember attack knocking him down and out. Green just sighed as he returned his Nidoran to its ball with a quiet "good job".

"Come on out! Loki!"

You watch in slight aw at the Butterfree that appeared, before giving your head a shake.

"Ash use ember before he can do anything."

You were happy with how quickly he responded, shaking his tail and producing several small flames heading for the bug. Your smile however disappeared when you saw green's smile however.

"Loki use gust! blow the embers back."

You were then treated to a reversal of a move you saw work before against Blue, as the purposeful strong gust strengthened the flames but also push them back into Ash. This combination hitting him twice over. And though the fire attack wouldn't do much against him the strong air attack still flung him pretty high into the air.

"Ash are you ok?"

Even though slightly bruised he quickly got back up and was ready for more.

"Loki use stun spore then tackle."

Butterfree begin to flap its wings harder producing a yellow mist as it began to sail through the air preparing to carpet bomb Charmander.

"Don't let that stuff hit you try to get up to it and you scratch, to bring it down."

It was a bit of a gamble but you knew you couldn't risk using fire attacks again and smokescreen would just be blown away. You could just stand there and watch as your pokemon ran while the bug-type tried to overtake him until Ash managed to reach one of the trees quickly scurrying up it and kicked off managing to meet Eye 2 Eye with Loki.

"Loki use confusion quick!"

The butterfree seemed to rear back just as Ash swiped with his claws there was a bright flash, and it was a few seconds later before you could see again and discover both pokemon on the ground. You both wordlessly returned your pokemon each giving a good job to your partners before almost feeling a sense of déjà vu as you found yourself staring down each other again trying to figure out your next move.

"Come on out Ivy/Sushi!"

You both called out your Pokemon's names at the same time and while Green's Bulbasaur appeared in front of him you're throw lead to Sushi in the water who quickly dive down.

"Um Amber, I'm only trying to help but, water types are a bad choice against plant types. So I hope you know what your doing."

You could hear from Green's flummoxed voice that he was confused, and wanted to help even though you were battling which was appreciated, but if you knew your Sushi.

It didn't take long before it happened, several splashes started happening as several somethings were being tossed out of the water. It didn't take long before you both knew they were Tentacool being tossed out of the water by your Pokemon. Dropping around Bulbasaur angrily thrashing around trying to regain their bearings the tentacles flailing around smacking her multiple times as they did. You just face-palmed as Green looked completely lost.

"Um Ivy quickly use vine-whip and put them back in the lake."

You almost burst out laughing as Bulbasaur gave her Trainer a 'are you kidding me' face before tossing them back two by two before sending a glare at the lake as she stood at the lip daring your pokemon to try again.

"Sushi! Use tackle and then try to get back in the water."

The Magikarp flew out head-butting Ivy hard pushing her back a bit. But before she could retreat Ivy used her vine-whip to catch Sushi and fling her into the middle of the field.

"Now use leach seed to finish it off."

You could do nothing but watch helplessly as your Pokémon flailed around doing a surprisingly admiral job trying to get back to the lake before a seed landed on her and quickly sprouted a series of vines tethering her to the ground, you could think of no way to get out of this as you saw the vines began the glow with soft dots of light going up the vines to a budding flower on the top.

"Dam...sigh...I g...."

You were broken out of your surrendering when Sushi began to glow with a bright light, you could hear the vines snap as the Magikarp began to grow. Bigger and bigger still as it's body began to grow longer until finally when the glow stopped and a bright red Gyarados stood floating a few feat of the ground. Ivy froze up as the big fish glared.

"Use tackle."

Was all you could think to say as the big red serpent slammed into the Bulbasaur knocking her onto her back.

"Sushi?"

The big Pokemon turned to face you and bend down its hatful glare replaced with a big happy smile, letting you know she was still your little Sushi. Leading to you giveing her head a big hug. After a moment you looked over at Green who already returned his pokemon and got out his camera. You could do nothing but shake your head and smile at the fact Sushi understood what was about to happen and was already preening for the camera. I just stood beside him as he took the pictures and whispered out to him.

"When we get back to the center we're sharing a room and your giving me that show."
