It starts with a text message

Tanya is awakened by the sound of a text message alert. When she looks she sees she has one new text from Maggie. Her stomach has butterflies.

Maggie: What's going on?

Tanya: I was dreaming about you.

Maggie: No, seriously, my parents are furious but they aren't saying why. Something to do with your Mom?

Tanya: Oh, yeah, she figured out we're in a sex cult.

Maggie: We're in a what?

Tanya: The sex cult. By the way, are we witches or Satanists? I couldn't remember.

There's a long pause as Tanya stares at her phone. It's so nice to wake up to texts from Maggie. She's also nervous because her Mom clearly doesn't like Maggie. She wonders if they'll need to keep their relationship a secret.

Finally, Maggie replies.

Maggie: What happened after you left Kyle's yesterday?

Tanya writes a long text explaining the previous day's events including masturbating in front of her brother and her mom catching her masturbating in the kitchen and the revelation about the sex cult. She wants to add that she realized she has a crush on her and Kyle but decides that can wait. There's another long pause from Maggie. Tanya worries she scared her crush away.

Maggie: Listen, Tanya, we're witches, but it has to stay a total secret. Even from Kyle. Whatever happens today with our parents you will deny everything about the sex cult. Everything you did yesterday was hazing by the cheerleading squad. Kyle and I didn't have anything to do with your masturbation. Tanya puts the phone aside. She's super nervous about messing things up with Maggie, so she vows to herself to keep the sex cult complete secret.
