Does his code work?
It does.
Jaiden once again, looks around for any cameras, and sees a few around the loading dock platform
I’ve already gone this far. Might as well.
Deciding to forgo any consequences for this, he puts in his code into the console. The light shines green and he hears an electronic lock unlock the employee door.
“Haha!” he cheers.
He picks up his duffle and opens the employee door to be presented by pure pitch black darkness and an immense smell of sugar. He walks in a bit and waves his arm around, but no motion sensor lights turn on. He reaches into his pocket to pull out his phone to turn on the flashlight. He sees that he has entered a ginormous warehouse. There are industrial shelves that reach almost a hundred feet up plus extra space on top. Where there should be hundreds if not thousands of pallets are empty shelves. There is an autonomous pallet jack frozen on its path with boxes still on the pallet it's holding. Jaiden walks up to the robot which seems to have stopped half way during its task. He looks into the boxes and sees it completely empty.
Was this the very last pallet that was shipped and returned?
He stands and wonders for a bit about the strange robot. Jaiden walks over to the controls and attempts to turn it on. No response. Seems as if the battery is long dead. Jaiden moves on and attempts to find a way out of this warehouse and into the factory.
After wandering for a few minutes, he finds a set of double doors that push open into this long hallway. He’s surprised by how large and tall the hallway is, seeing the size of it makes him think a truck could actually fit in here. The sound of his footsteps echo down the depths of the factory. Immediately, he sees a door to his right. Looking up, he sees that it is labeled: “Power”.
Seeing that his phone is losing battery faster than he wants it to, he heads into the power room, wondering if he can somehow turn the lights back on in the factory. Expecting a large room filled with generators and wires that branch out across the entire factory, he is surprised by an almost completely blank white room with a single lever in the middle. He walks up to the lever and sees a small little plaque next to it that reads “Power” on top and “No Power” on the bottom which the lever is switched to.
That is…surprisingly straightforward.
Jaiden grips the lever and switches it over to the power setting. Expecting again a whirring sound that gradually increases until the lights turn on, they just flick on without a single sound. Almost like a light switch, Jaiden finds power may have been restored to the factory. He looks back into the hallway to see that lights are now illuminating the path deeper. He turns his flashlight off and tucks his phone into his bag before continuing on to explore deeper into the factory. He walks down the hallway to another set of double doors. Opening them he is presented in the middle of another hallway but a strong smell of chocolate. He can’t see any signs giving him directions but the hallway continues on to the right and left. He stands there unsure of which direction to continue exploring in.
Which way does he go?
