How does Jer's first day at work go?
It's Jasmine Now but they don't need to know that yet.
Weights, Workouts, and Workmates- Rough draft v3
**
**Jasmine, still known as Jer at work, arrived at 'Sun's Out, Work Out' gym for her first full day on the job. She felt both excited and nervous about the new experience, but after her first day, she felt more confident about working with Lu and fitting in.
The second day started with Jasmine clocking in and getting straight to work. She took a moment to recall the various tasks and responsibilities Lu had taught her the previous day. Remembering her training, Jasmine prepped the hot towels, cleaned the pool, and manned the register, all while wearing her hidden lace-trimmed underwear and a discreet gold anklet beneath her outfit.
As the day went on, Jasmine interacted with various gym members, assisting them with their workout routines and ensuring they were using the equipment safely. She chatted with customers, discussing their fitness goals and sharing tips for maintaining motivation. Jasmine found herself enjoying the work and felt a sense of accomplishment as she helped others achieve their fitness goals.
During a brief lull in the gym's activity, Jasmine found her thoughts drifting to Nate. She daydreamed about the two of them dressed in feminine attire, their outfits perfectly coordinated and accentuating their unique styles. In her daydream, Nate wore a tight-fitting black dress with a daring neckline, while Jasmine donned a more conservative, yet still alluring, red dress that hugged her curves just right.
As they danced together, Nate took the lead, guiding Jasmine effortlessly across the floor. The trust and connection between them were palpable, their bodies moving in perfect sync. Nate whispered sweet, seductive words into Jasmine's ear, a playful smirk on his face as he teased her, gently pulling her hair and applying just the right amount of pressure on her throat. The idea of experiencing that level of intimacy and trust with Nate made her heart race with excitement.
Just as Jasmine was lost in her daydream, Lu approached and noticed the gold anklet peeking out from beneath her pants.
"Nice anklet, Jer," Lu teased, raising an eyebrow. "Is that a new addition to your wardrobe?"
Jasmine felt her cheeks flush but tried to play it off casually. "Yeah, I thought it was a nice touch. Something different, you know?"
Lu gave Jasmine a knowing look, and Jasmine knew that Lu had also noticed the feminine undergarments. However, Lu decided not to say anything about it, opting to let it go for now.
After their exchange, Jasmine couldn't help but notice a glint in Lu's eyes that put Jasmine on edge.
"Jer, this is Alex, one of our personal trainers. Alex, this is Jer, our newest team member," Lu said, making the introductions.
"Nice to meet you, Jer," Alex said warmly, extending a hand. "Looking forward to working with you."
Jasmine shook Alex's hand and smiled. "Likewise, Alex. I'm excited to learn from you and the rest of the team."
The rest of Jasmine's first day at the gym was a flurry of activity. She was introduced to the other team members that would be working shifts that intersected with her by Luraine, who gave him a quick tour before leaving him in the capable hands of Personal trainer Alex, Front End Lead Bree, and Class Instructor/Equipment Manager Mark. It was decided to pair him with Mark for the start of the day to start learning equipment and safety. throughout day in the back of her mind she spent the rest of the day trying to keep her thoughts focused on the tasks at hand, but her mind was a whirlwind of worries, questions, and worst-case scenarios. 'Am I doing this right? Is Luraine watching? Did I just mess up?' With each passing hour, Jeremy found himself battling his inner turmoil, striving to maintain the façade of a confident man while internally grappling with the anxiety.
Alex may have been the first to meet her but Mark was the first to make an impression.
Mark, a burly man with a thick beard and tattoos, embodied everything Jeremy had been taught to be as a man, but wasn't. had his back to Jeremy, scanning over the rows of equipment. He finally spoke, his gruff voice carrying over the low hum of the gym's ambiance. "New kid, huh?"
Jeremy nodded, even though Mark wasn't looking at him. "Yes, sir. First day. Anything specific you want me to do?" Jeremy asked, trying to keep his voice steady and confident.
Mark turned then, a slight frown on his face. "It's Mark, not sir. Sir makes me sound old." There was a pause before he added, "You don't look like you know your way around a gym."
Jeremy felt his cheeks flush but kept his voice steady. "I know my way around, but I'm always willing to learn more."
The corner of Mark's mouth twitched in what could be a semblance of a smile. "Good answer. This job isn't just about knowing how to lift weights. It's about understanding people, understanding their limits, and pushing them just enough to improve without breaking them."
Jasmine swallowed, nodding. "I understand that. I'll do my best."
" Don't mess things up, and we'll be fine," Mark grunted in response, turning away to look back at the rows of equipment. "Just remember, this isn't a playground. It's a place of work. People come here to better themselves, and it's our job to help them do that. Don't forget it."
"I won't," Jasmine tried to respond confidently, the thoughts in her head, however, were less cooperative, darting around like birds in a cage. 'What if you do mess up? What if he gets mad? What if...' while doing her best to pay attention and look the look the part, as Mark inspected the equipment for damage and explained why it was important to do so. Starting the tedious process of training Jasmine to his exacting Standards. Mark seemed to be the stoic serious type in general but seemed extra so with Jasmine. She hoped it was due to being new and would pass with time.
On the other hand, as Jasmine found out when sent to train on front end responsibilities, with a reproving remark of 'Chin up, you're a guy, be confident, even if you have to fake it till you make it, nobody wants to go to a gym with staff that's uncertain in every step they take' from Mark as she walked away, Bree was comparatively a bundle of energy.
Jeremy's heart pounded in his chest as he approached Bree. Mark had sent him over to learn the front end tasks, and though he was nervous, he was also excited. A new task, a new challenge – his mind buzzed with anticipation. His smile was wide and his head held high, mimicking the confidence Mark had tried to instill in him.
Bree was behind the front desk when Jeremy approached, her eyes focused on the screen in front of her. She looked up, a welcoming smile on her face. "Hey, Jeremy Right? Mark Done with you?"
Jasmine returned the smile, extending a hand. "Yeah, that's me. I'm here to learn about the front desk duties." Jasmine's heart fluttered with anxiety, but he swallowed it down.
Bree shook his hand and gestured for him to join her behind the counter. "Well, Jeremy, you're in luck. I'm the best at this job, so if you can keep up, you'll learn a lot."
As Bree started explaining the tasks, Jeremy focused on her words, nodding along and asking questions when necessary. He thought about how everything seemed so new and daunting, yet he wanted to prove himself, to show that he could handle the responsibilities. Trying to maintain his enthusiasm. His mind was already racing, thoughts darting like hummingbirds from one flower to the next. 'What did she think of him? Was he being too eager? Did she see through his **** confidence?' Jasmine felt like her movements and responses going at light speed but somehow always still falling a step or second short. 'Don't mess up, don't look at the rest of the room, don't ponder on what kink of wood this desk is made out of or why they picked the computer hardware they did, she asked you to do something, what was it ? Oh right type this in here, move this over here. fold these while waiting for the customer to get out there care. maintain eye contact, well if not eye contact find something interesting to ponder about them and zone out on their face. Oh they have their card, put folding thing down, take care. You've not said anything for to long, ah um, complement them on their glasses, its color, and its brand. oh youve been talking too long. finish the check a in and apologize for talking her ear off, smile as she walks away, grab next towel and fold, then sort and store the returned locks and keys for the gym lockers. Wipe down counter, check the computer for any alerts or messages from clients with appointments or other issues, I wonder which company made the end user software for this, the GUI is very rough and the speed sucks, wipe down and re-rack the equipment that's in eye shot of the door. I wonder if they take into account the reduction in **** applied to the user when there are that many pulleys between them and the weight? maybe ask or would that be an annoying question?....' his mind continued it whirlwind of activity.
Bree, noticing his quick learning and the confidence he displayed, felt a pang of jealousy. Here was this new guy, stepping into her territory and picking up tasks with an ease that had taken her weeks to master. Her tone cooled slightly. "You seem to be catching on quickly. That's good. Just remember, this isn't a place to slack off. Members rely on us."
The words heartened Jasmine but she also caught the change in Bree's tone, The fake smile jasmine still had plastered on her face,as if applied by staples, fading a touch. He reassured her, trying to maintain the positive atmosphere. "Absolutely, Bree. I understand the importance of our role here."
Bree watched him for a moment, her smile still in place but her eyes a little harder. "Good. Just remember, we all have to work together to keep this place running smoothly."
Internally, Jeremy sighed. He had sensed a shift in Bree's demeanor and wasn't sure what to make of it. Was it something he said or did? Was she always this intense? He **** himself to push those thoughts aside. He needed to focus on the job at hand. "Of course, teamwork makes the dream work, right?" Jeremy replied, trying to keep the mood light.
Bree's smile turned a touch more genuine at the humor, but there was still an edge to her voice as she said, "Exactly. Just make sure you do your part."
Despite her curt response, Jeremy managed to maintain his confidence. He'd deal with Bree's mixed signals later. Right now, he had a job to do.
As Jeremy's first full day at the gym continued, he found himself partnered with Alex, the trainer known for his easy-going demeanor and dedication to his clients.
"Alright, Jeremy," Alex began, clapping him on the shoulder with a warm grin. "First things first, you gotta understand that every client is different. They each have their own goals, their own motivations, their own limitations. You won't be a personal trainer yet but everyone should be able to answer simple questions and lend a hand, the best way to do that is getting to know them and their goals."
Jeremy nodded, appreciating Alex's approach to personal training. "Understood. It's about personalizing the training to fit the individual, right?"
"Exactly," Alex said, leading Jeremy over to a treadmill. "For example, let's say we have a client who wants to lose weight but has bad knees. Running on a treadmill might be tough for them, so we'd look at low-impact exercises like swimming or cycling."
As the day went on, Alex continued to demonstrate the various gym equipment, explaining their functions, proper form, and common mistakes.
The gym was a whirlwind of motion and noise that threatened to overwhelm Jasmine - the clang of weights being lifted and dropped, the steady rhythm of treadmills, the energetic beats of music playing in the background. She took a deep breath, attempting to focus on the task at hand. The mask would hold, it had to.
"Alright, Jeremy," Alex said, his voice steady and patient. "The first step to spotting someone is to make sure you're in the right position. Stand close enough to assist, but give them enough room to move."
Jasmine's mind raced, thoughts skipping from one topic to another like a stone skimming across a pond. How close was 'close enough'? What if she messed up? What if she wasn't strong enough to help if someone needed her?
And beneath it all, there was the ever-present undercurrent of guilt and uncertainty. The guilt of not being the "man" she was supposed to be, the uncertainty of navigating a world that didn't seem to have a place for someone like her. The conflicting messages of her past clashed with the reality of her present, creating a dissonance that was difficult to ignore.
"I'm here to help," Alex's voice broke through her spiraling thoughts. His eyes met hers, steady and reassuring. "I'll guide you through it, don't worry."
As Alex continued his instructions and guildlines, guiding her hands to the correct position, offering reassuring nods and smiles, Jasmine couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude towards him. Despite her whirlwind of thoughts and fears, he was patient, understanding, and supportive.
Through the chaos of her mind, Jasmine found something akin to focus, a sense of purpose. She was going to get through this, one step at a time. Because she was Jasmine. She was strong. And she was going to prove it, to everyone else and, more importantly, to herself.
Jasmine nodded, taking another deep breath as she **** herself to focus on Alex's instructions. She could do this. She had to do this.
At the end of the day, as they were tidying up the gym, Alex turned to Jeremy, a thoughtful expression on his face. "You did good today, Jeremy. You're quick to learn and you're not afraid to ask questions. That's a good trait to have in this line of work."
Jeremy, despite the fatigue setting in, smiled at the compliment. "Thanks, Alex. I'm just trying to do my best."
Alex chuckled, patting him on the back. "Well, your best is good enough for me. Just remember to always listen to the clients, understand their needs and goals, and you'll do just fine."
Jasmine nodded, taking Alex's words to heart. She couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to Alex than met the eye. As they continued to chat, as Jasmine got ready to leave, Alex casually mentioned their knack for acquiring things people needed, whether it be rare workout supplements or even hard-to-find clothing items. All it took was the right price or the right favor in return. This revelation planted a seed in Jasmine's mind, the possibility of a valuable ally in her journey to explore and express her femininity.
By the end of the day, Jasmine was exhausted but satisfied., Jasmine reflected on her experiences at the gym so far. She was grateful for the support and understanding she had found in Lu and her new coworkers, and she felt increasingly excited about the potential growth and opportunities this job could offer her. Despite the delicate balance she had to maintain between her two identities. 'Now how am I going to ask for help with my figure while not outing myself... Maybe claim my girlfriend want me to be more flexible and trim down? That honestly might be in the cards, Natalie said she would help me look the part. Do i have all my supplies for class, what classes does Natalie take, will I see her on compass, what am i doing for lunch, should I start packing it to help trim down, or am i thinking of this wrong, what if Nat likes her girlfriends with bulk, do I still want muscles, how much of that was a mask, how much of me was a mask, am i still me if i discard a part of my self, even if that part was made to protect me but is no longer needed, does how ingrained it was or wasn't change that, what is masculinity. ' with these thought as others running rampant, like they always did, she headed toward her college classes the constant storm of thoughts raging like a calming storm. The chaos of the day, her situation, and her thoughts all felt like home.
