Psycho Exes

Jeff sits at the bar and sips his beer. He looks at the clock. As usual, Will is running late. He thought the urgency of this situation might cause his best friend to make an exception to his annoying habit. He looked at his phone. It was off. He had to shut it off because his recent ex wouldn't stop texting and calling. He was hesitant to turn it back on to see if Will had texted because he didn't want to deal with that river of ruin. He wondered if he would need to get a new phone number?

That thought sends Jeff spiraling. What other changes would he need to make in his life? What about his job? He wondered if he could get permission to work off-site for a few months? How would he even explain that: "So, boss, my ex is crazy and might show up here and do something. No, I don't know what. She's unpredictable." Yeah, that probably wouldn't fly.
