Dead, But Doing Better
New Vampire Life
“They call it immortality. I call it the longest hangover in history…” – Louis de Pointe du Lac.
Tara Kapoor. Modern woman. Worked at an office in New York City. Parents were proud that she went to Yale. Now working as an attorney for Morgan & Peterson – the most prestigious firm in legal history. That big, huh?
Tara had brown skin and was tall-ish. Almond coloured eyes. Slender. Wore a lot of white and peach at work. Contrast really kills.
Tara Kapoor. Cooked a meal for her boyfriend, Ramesh. He slept on the couch. Played video games all day. He was a doctor and spent most of his time off shift playing Modern Warfare and shouting into his headset. Of course at Tara’s flat. Making a mess. Real, huh?
Ramesh was rough and macho. Talking in the language of football and fried chicken. Gym was religion. And he didn’t look bad too.
Tara woke him up for food. He attacked the lasagne with sauce dripping all over his chin and onto the floor. Jeez, huh. How long was this gonna last? So far three years and counting.
