The Fertility Ritual
The Fertility Ritual

The Human Kingdom was in trouble. Birth rates among the people had been declining for many years, dwindling steadily causing serious concern for the sustainment of the Kingdom. Then, for an entire year, there were no children born at all.
The King and his advisors panicked. Worried about the future of the Kingdom, the King sought out the sages and soothsayers, who informed him after much pomp and ritualism that the Kingdom was under a curse! The Curse of Infertility!

Shock and fear followed this revelation, and the King in his desperation sent out a decree that all women of eligible age were to immediately submit themselves for breeding by any capable male! Exceptions to the decree were given only to a select few, such as certain religious orders and people of special significance, like the King's own daughter. Advised by the sages and soothsayers, the King and his advisors hoped with this decree to overcome this curse through the sheer will of the indominable human spirit!
The King himself announced the decree, adding to it a rousing speech that inspired his people!

Following the will of the King, bolstered by his manliness and charisma, many people soon participated in numerous and varying mating orgies, giving their all to impregnate and become pregnant. The women and the men complied with the decree eagerly in most cases.

However, after a few months went by, the women were still left with empty wombs, the men with empty balls, and the kingdom with no children on the way.
Growing desperate, the King was distraught, and under influence from his advisors, he rescinded the exception clause to the decree, ordering all religious organizations to comply and use all their efforts to try and break the Curse of Infertility. The many Churches across the land obeyed, though some did so reluctantly...

Also included in the exception were all people of special significance, and they as well were ordered to submit themselves for breeding, regardless of status or affiliation...
As desperate as he was, the King could not spare anyone's feelings, not the churches, nor even those of his own daughter...
So begins the stories and tales of a world where the Curse of Infertility has driven the people to desperate measures...
Note from the Author:
I am revising this opening chapter to clear up some exposition, mostly for my own pleasure, to help the story flow better and to flesh out some of the stories that didn't get much attention early on, such as the Princess who really deserves her own storyline, and the Priest and Goddess storyline that I feel like could use some buildup and additional story in the opening act.
Thanks for reading and please look forward to the updates coming!
