Madame Hydra
Hydra
The voice was low and menacing, sending a shiver down Natasha's spine. She knew that tone well—it was the voice of a Hydra instructor catching her where she shouldn't be. Slowly, she turned around to face the woman in the black uniform with the golden viper emblem on her chest. It was the Baroness, known for her stern demeanor and ruthless training methods.
"Just a book, ma'am," Natasha replied calmly, trying to keep her voice from trembling. She had learned early on that fear was a weakness that could not be shown to Hydra.
The Baroness raised a sculpted eyebrow, her piercing gaze sweeping over Natasha's face before landing on the book in her hands. "This is no ordinary book," she said, her grip on Natasha's shoulder tightening slightly. "It is a piece of our history—a history you will soon be a part of."
Natasha felt a surge of dread. She knew the Baroness was hinting at the next phase of her training, the one she had been dreading the most—the moment she would be fully indoctrinated into the Hydra ranks. Her mind raced as she tried to think of an excuse, a way to explain her curiosity without revealing her burgeoning doubt.
"I was just...curious," she managed to say, hoping her voice didn't betray her.
The Baroness leaned in closer, her eyes narrowing. "Curiosity can be a dangerous trait, Natasha," she murmured, her tone a mix of warning and amusement. "But it can also be quite useful. For someone in your position."
SUMMARY^1: Natasha is caught by the Baroness with the forbidden book, and despite her fear, she remains composed. The Baroness hints at Natasha's upcoming indoctrination and suggests that her curiosity could be an advantageous trait within Hydra.
