Into the woods

Miranda peeked out from behind a tree as she and Jack reached the other side of the park, looking around as Jack stuck her head out.

"Is the coast clear?" Jack asked.

"No, Jack. There's an entire army of people blocking the exit to the park, but they're completely invisible to everyone but me." Miranda replied sarcastically, rolling her eyes as Jack glared at her. "Yes, the coast is clear at the moment. Now on three, we make a break for the exit. One -"

"Wait, do you mean 'One, Two, Three, go' or 'One, Two, go on Three'?"

"Does that really matter right now?" Miranda asked.

"I'm just saying, if one of us darts out to late -"

"Oh for the love of - Fine! The second one, okay?!" Miranda snapped before taking a deep breath. "Okay, one... Two..."

Before Miranda could even get the last word out, a skycar pulled up to the exit of the park. And from the flashing blue and red on top as a woman in black stepped out was any indication...

"Oh no. Not the police..." Miranda groaned in a mixture of fear and annoyance. "Not now."

"Who the fuck called the cops?!" Jack hissed.

"Someone must have spotted us." Miranda muttered, "Not enough to see who we are, but enough to see what we were doing."

"Great..." Jack groaned. "This is your fault, you know."

"MY fault?!" Miranda hissed, glaring daggers at her 'wife'. "How the hell is this my fault?!"

"'Let's streak to Shepard's! I don't like it either, but I don't see any other options'." Jack mocked bedore glaring Miranda down. "RING ANY BELLS?!"

"Hey! Who's out there?!" The police woman called out, turning towards the trees at the outburst.

"Run?"

"Run."

"Locked." Jane said, letting go of the door handle. After knocking for twenty-five minutes, and not getting a response, the red head had tried the door, with a fruitless result. "Any chance I can break this down?"

"Not likely." Liara replied, "According to my notes on the building, it would take an army of roided up Krogans to even leave a dent. Even Jack would pass out before she even made a dent."

"And she's even stronger than me when it comes to human biotics." Jane commented.

"I do have another way, of course..." Liara said as she took out her omnitool and began to hack into the door.

"Nice going, Zero!" Miranda hissed as the two naked women fled into the forest next to the park, losing the policewoman. "Why didn't you just shout out, 'Hey, Pig! Two fucking naked chicks over here'?!"

"First, I do not fucking talk like that!" Jack snapped in response, "Second, fine! That one was my bad. However, I -" the tattooed woman tripped over a log and fell forward, "Fuck!"

"Jack!" Miranda called out as she grabbed the other woman's hand, the two tumbling forward down a hill.

The two yelped and groaned as they rolled down, collecting twigs, leaves, and dirt in their hair for several seconds before finally crashing on top of one another at the bottom, landing in a mud puddle.

"Get off me!" Jack snapped as she shoved Miranda off her. As the tattooed woman got to her feet, Jack turned to glare at her 'wife'. However, the sight of Miranda with twigs and leaves in her hair and mud splotches and dirt marks on her perfect skin caused the tattooed woman to instead burst out laughing. "Y-you... You look rediculous!"

Miranda groaned in annoyance as she looked down at herself, looking back up at Jack... Only for a laugh to escape her own throat. "So do you!"

Jack stopped laughing and looked herself over to see that she was in the state, the two looking back at each other... And exploding in laughter as Jack reached down to help Miranda up.

"God, I love you sometimes..." Jack muttered under her breath as she shook her head.

But apparently, she wasn't quiet enough.

"W-what?" Miranda stammered, having stopped laughing as her eyes grew wide. Had she heard that right?

"What?" Jack asked, missing the point at first. Once it finally clicked with her about what Miranda was referring to, the tattooed woman burned a shade of red that Miranda had never seen before. "Nothing!"

"Did you just say -"

"I said nothing, Cheerleader! Now drop it!"

"You like me?"

"Shut the fuck up! No I don't!"

"You said that you lo-"

"Shut up right now, or I swear Kasumi won't be the only person I **** tonight, Bitch!"

"... And how do you really feel?" Miranda teased with a smirk.

"Miranda!"

"Fine, consider it dropped. It was most likely just a slip of the tongue, anyway." Miranda said with a shrug, before smirking again. "But you still haven't let go of my hand..."

"Fuck you." Jack spat in embarrassment as she pulled her hand away, "Just lead us to Shepard's before we're seen by anyone else!"

Kasumi smiled as she watched the two walk away, still recording their adventure as she chuckled silently and followed them.
