Chapter 3 by brothersammywilson brothersammywilson

What's next?

Into the eye of the storm

Marielle continued her progress into the heart of the forest, the woods seemingly deepening around her. The hawk hadn't really given her much to go on in terms of a direction of travel, only an enemy to hunt, so she decided to head for the centre of the island, figuring that that would give her the best shot at finding some clue to narrow down her search. She did her best to keep herself going through the thinnest paths of brambles and bushes while still moving in a consistent direction, but the truth is, that despite her best efforts, she had no true way of knowing where she was going.

After what felt like an eternity, she came across a clearing. She took the opportunity to get her bearings. Based on the sun's positioning, she was still making progress, frustratingly slowly, but still. She allowed herself to be buoyed by this slightly as she stooped at a small spring to refill her flask. She paused for a moment to study her weatherbeaten face, when her reflection was disturbed by a ripple in the pool, then her stance was shaken as the ground began to rumble. The trees began to whip and shake as a cloud appeared above them, it shimmered in the light and instantly Marielle knew it wasn't natural. She drew her sword as the cloud enveloped her, unsure of what it would bring.

She turned and turned as the cloud spread, waiting for an enemy to appear from the mist, but nothing came. Instead, Marielle began to feel a warmth envelop her body. It felt nearly comforting at first, but then, as it focused its energy on her breasts and between her legs, she recognized its sinister intentions and began to run. She had no sense of direction, just a knowledge that she needed to get out of this storm before its corrupting influence began to take hold. Her nipples began to stiffen and chafe against the confines of her armor. She steeled herself against the growing bodily need, focusing on her faith, her discipline, and pushed on. The heat between her legs was nearly unbearable, but she focused on Helios, and felt the pressure begin to lessen. Unsure whether it was merely a delusion of faith or if she was nearing the edge, she didn't care. She doubled her efforts, practically sprinting in her armor as her body screamed at her for release.

Suddenly, she saw a large rock outcropping ahead. **** for any port in a storm, she directed herself to it. It was a cave. She practically threw herself inside and hoped that it would release her whatever magics were causing her stimulation. All at once, the sense of arousal stopped, and she couldn't help but let out a soft moan as she caught her breath. It took everything in her power not to strip and plunge her fingers deep inside herself, but her faith had gotten her this far and eventually she came back to her senses without debasing herself. Settled, she examined her surroundings.

What does she see?
