Into the Slums

"Whew...Looks like we made it out!" you happily cheer at the two Sunriders standing next to you. Claire is doing alright, standing up straight, trying to scrap off some of the remnants of her slide down from her clothes. Ashe on the other hand, is hurled over, vomiting her guts out from the smell. "Get some in your mouth?" you laugh at the normally confident Sunrider

"Fuck..." She starts to dry heave some more "Fuck you." trying her best to spit out whatever pieces of filth got into her mouth "I swear to god I must have swallowed something on the ride down."

Claire walks over to her warrior and places a hand on her back, lightly patting it "Should have kept your mouth closed." she gives Ashe a small laugh which causes you to laugh a little harder than you should.

In the background you can still hear bells and chimes echoing from the castle. "We gotta go, follow me, I know these Slums well." you motion toward the girls "We should probably hang low for the night since it's getting dark. Rathkin warriors will be scouring the entire city for us, I know a place we can spend the night, maybe let things cool off outside. Also, to clean up and hopefully change some clothes."

With that, you lead Claire & Ashe through many of the small pathways through out the slums, easily navigating through what would be a maze for most everybody else.

After another handful of minutes the three of you walk up some very old stone stairs that are slightly falling apart. You reach the top and there is a wooden door which is slightly ajar. Opening it up, you carefully walk inside of what looks like a cellar for a house. Your head pivots around the room, looking to see if there is any company.

Many stone bathtubs still filled with somewhat murky and cloudy water are littered through out the room. Different closets in the walls seem to hold many cloth tunics, pants and sandals for dressing. The room is still poorly lit as the only light coming into the room is the light seeping it's way through the door from the slums. Many torches on the wall allow you to light them up for vision if needed.

"What is this place?" Claire questions

"Warriors who fought in the slums." you begin "If you were well know you were allowed to come here before you fights, wash up, change clothes, relax, sleep, eat, fuck, whatever you want before your next battle. Since there is a war going on outside it's no wonder this place is abandoned at the moment" you hesitate "I knew of this place and was able to come inside once but never was able to stay, I wasn't...privileged enough" you roll your eyes at that word. "Most people don't know of this place unless they knew a fighter in the Slums and were allowed to come here. Lucky for us too" you point your finger towards another set of staircases which spiral up "At the top of those stairs is a carefully disguised exit into the outer city."

"So let's leave now?" Ashe protests

"No." your voice is stern "It exits in a back alley by a tavern, that tavern borders the mote into the inner city. The disguised exit is pretty much in sight of the bridge to the inner city, we'll surely be spotted, especially with all of Rathkin on alert to keep their eyes open for us."

"At least we can clean up." Claire walks over to one of the tubs, placing her hand into the murky water "Cold but...somewhat clean. Cleaner than us." she smirks

"There are four rooms over there." you point into the darkness toward another side "Small rooms, but each have a bed, a tub, a chair and a table. Enough to get clean, change clothes and at least have a cot to try to rest on for the night." You walk over to the wall, reaching around slowly in the darkness until you grab onto two types of blackened, sharp rocks. "There, can use these to light a torch or two."

"Let's each go to a room, clean up and change clothes. We'll meet back out here in 20 minutes okay?" Claire orders
