Into Adulthood

Author's Note: minor alterations due to moderation. Will be marked with bold typeset.

As his 18th birthday approached, Ahsch grew more and more anxious. On the one hand, the CEO had said that passing on the opportunity for adventure would have no real consequences. On the other, given how many of worlds that the CEO had offered to send him to had serious bad times ahead, he questioned just how little consequences he'd engender on Euphoria.

There was also the third hand, which questioned the wisdom of willfully seeking out danger by taking that opportunity for 'adventure.' Given how descriptive the CEO had been about the truly dire situations awaiting him on other worlds, he doubted it would be anything like a demon king or eldritch invasion or such, but 'adventure' did still mean something dangerous and threatening.

But still, while his life in Sarvas was good, it wasn't exactly exciting - the occasional brush with danger while guiding adventurers in the woods aside. And unless he suddenly gain the heart of a scholar, Ahsch doubted he'd make any strides in studying magic - though, to be fair, he'd learned some dozen spells from his parents and the other villagers, and had made great strides in playing around with some of his Innate Spells.

And what was the point of gaining a great deal of magical power if he didn't use it?

In the week leading up to his birthday, Ahsch resolved to try and not worry about whatever opportunity he was going to get; as much as he wanted to go on adventures and learn new magic and all that, he didn't want to do so if it would change a fundamental part of himself. Not to mention, it wasn't as though he couldn't do things the old-fashioned way and simply leave, join the adventurer's guild, and do things that way. He just assumed that taking advantage of this 'opportunity' would provide him with a leg-up, some sort of advantage going into the future.

The morning of his 18th, Ahsch woke to a pleasant sensation - his sister's tight, warm pussy, __ wrapped around his cock __. He stretched, trying not to move too much, but Ariin woke up regardless, a moan of delight on her lips as she slowly sat up and gave her hips a small roll. Opening her eyes, she smiled down at her brother, humming happily. "Mmmm, morning, brother," she purred, gently rocking back and forth, her kegels squeezing rhythmically.

He groaned in response, hands resting on her thighs. "Happy birthday, little bird."

Ariin pouted prettily at his nickname for her - she was, after all, in the average height for a hrafthi, all of 4'11," and as far as she and everyone else were concerned, he was the freak for being two inches over six feet tall! In retribution, she playfully smacked his chest, prompting him to squeeze her legs.

His erection was fully present, and Ahsch was of a mind to roll over and pound into his twin sister, when a knock on the door made them pause. "When you two are done, Noeh and Vinra want to talk to you in the main room," came Maviern's voice from behind the door.

"We'll be quick!" the hrafthi boy called back. He waited for the sound of receding footsteps, then swiftly rolled, getting his twin sister under him with her legs up over his shoulders. His sister moaned in arousal, then cried out as he began to pump rapidly. They kissed and Ahsch slipped a hand between their bodies, his fingers finding her clit with practiced ease. He'd long ago discovered that Ariin preferred a firmer touch, and so he was quite rough with her little pleasure bud, trapping the base of it between two fingers and making circular motions with his thumb.

When she came, the rhythmic clenching of Ariin's cunt set her brother off, and he growled in her ear as he sprayed deep inside her. "Fuck," he panted, resting his weight atop his sister, "that's one way to celebrate."

She hummed her agreement, gently caressing his back for a minute before lightly shoving him off. "You should see what father and Vinra want," she murmured.

Ahsch huffed a laugh. "You'll have to let go of me first, little bird."

Ariin whined, but unwrapped her legs from around her brother's waist, then gently shoved him away with her foot. "Go, see what they want. And..." she propped herself up, one leg bent while the other stretched down the bed, and she gave Ahsch a mischievous smile while blushing, "I have a gift for you, after all the celebrations are done tonight."

The hrafthi boy raised an eyebrow, intrigued, but his sister shooed him away, so he quickly got dressed and left their bedroom. Out in the hall, Mahlith, Betyn's eldest, smirked at him as they passed. "You two are worse than Kebir when she's in heat," she teased, to which he responded by sticking out his tongue. With mutual eye-rolls, they continued on their respective ways, and Ahsch quickly made it to the main room of the house, where the largest table was - it was a combination dining and conference room, given that the table was convenient for laying out documents, maps, etc.

When he arrived, he wasn't terribly surprised to see that his father and Vinra weren't alone - Ahsch's sisters Casir, Diex, and Sti'el were also present, with their guides' equipment and weapons. Which made sense, seeing as those three plus Noeh and Vinra would be guiding expeditions into the woods that day.

Vinra paused her report to smile at Ahsch as he entered, and the other four also turned to greet the eldest child of the family. "Good morning, and happy birthday, son," Noeh beamed.

The hrafthi boy smiled back. "G'morning. You wanted to see me?"

"Mmhm," Vinra hummed confirmation. "That bloody idiot Dagan fell of his roof last night whilst replacing some of the roofing and broke his leg - he was supposed to guide an expedition today. We know it's your birthday and you may have had plans to celebrate before tonight, but..."

"You want me to take his place for the expedition," Ahsch filled in, receiving a confirming nod. "I didn't have plans, and I'm sure some people would be glad to have me out of the house until tonight," he shot a look into an adjoining room where Kebir was attempting to sneak past with an unlabeled, unfamiliar box. The leothra paused, grinned guiltily at him, then continued on quickly, keeping her body between Ahsch's gaze and the box. "Give me the details on the expedition and it shouldn't be a problem."

Noeh and Vinra grinned in relief. "It was a deeper run for some rich kid from the capitol province," the family patriarch said. "I glanced over the expedition orders, but we only got them early this morning, so you'd be better off reading that than listening to us."

"Understood," Ahsch said, taking the folder that Vinra passed to Casir, who passed it to him. "I'll go get ready then; do we know what time we're expecting this wealthy scion?"

"Around nine," Vinra supplied, after rolling her eyes at the boy's mocking tone. He thought for a moment, then nodded. It was only just after seven, so there was plenty of time to get ready, eat, and head over to the adventurer's guild to await his charge.

Though maybe in a slightly different order, he considered, heading to the kitchen to grab some food. Betyn was there, still working the stove and pot, and she smiled at the hrafthi as he entered. "See you managed to pull yourself out of your sister before noon," she teased, serving up some eggs, porridge, and a glass of fresh milk.

Ahsch rolled his eyes. "We're not that bad," he grouched, taking a spot in the corner, out of the way of the bustling holustaur, to eat his breakfast.

"Oh, really? Remind me, how late were you two to lunch last Thursday?"

Blushing, the boy muttered something non-committal and dug into his food, finishing in record time. Betyn seemed conflicted; proud that her food was so good as to be bolted so fast, but also hurt that he hadn't taken the time to savor it. "Sorry, Betyn, I've got an expedition to read up on by nine," he explained, which seemed to mollify the woman.

"Fine, fine, just so long as you take your time at dinner, sweetie," she allowed, waving him away after he rinsed off his dishes - one of his sisters would likely be doing a proper wash of all the breakfast dishes in the next hour or so.

Ahsch went to the family armory next, which was like a large walk-in closet with enough room for three, maybe four people to get equipped at a time. Currently, there was nobody else in the armory, the other five members of the family who would be guiding expeditions that day were already equipped.

As far as equipping himself, the hrafthi boy had very little aside from his regular clothing for outside: a long coat with some extra padding for protection, and a spear with an extremely basic magical focus in the form of a crystal set just below the blade.

After all, as a mage, weapons and armor were secondary, if not tertiary, to his magic.

Slinging the spear across his back by a strap, Ahsch made his way out of the house, opening the expedition orders. Outside, he was met by Mahat, who nuzzled up against his leg, asking for head scratches. The mage laughed, "I sometimes forget you're a familiar, and not just an intelligent greater spined fox," he admonished while providing the requested scratches.

Well, that will change today, master, she replied, a hint of mischief in her mental sending.

"Oh?"

Not now, she said. Or did you already forget that you need to get to the guild?

Ahsch frowned at his familiar, then sighed, gave her a final scratch behind the ears, and made his way across the village to the adventurer's guild building, reviewing the expedition orders as he walked.

_One expedition today, Ahsch analyzed, with more to follow over the next week, the details of which will alter based on how today goes - at least we're getting a premium for flexibility._

_You mean the _guild is getting a premium, and we're getting a bit extra, Mahat interjected.__

"Same difference," the hrafthi replied._ It's a deeper run, he continued his examination, like father said... but there's only two in the group? The kid and their attendant._

Well, that's just lovely for a deep run, came the familiar's sardonic commentary.__

_At least the kid is combat trained, _the mage pointed out mentally, and their attendant... sounds more like a bodyguard, based on this. Just how wealthy is this family? ...Of course, surname 'Starr,' anonymous. So maybe not a merchant's kid, but a noble brat.

Mahat sneezed derisively. Delightful

_...Is it too late to refuse this? _Ahsch asked, pausing outside the door to the guild building and not liking the sound of shouting coming from inside.__

_No, but you'll look bad, _his familiar teased.__

Ahsch sighed, quickly glanced over the orders again, noting the route they were supposed to take, then entered the guild.

"...mean you're not ready yet?" a young woman was yelling at the guild receptionist while a large, grizzled man in armor stood by, looking exasperated.

"Miss," the weary receptionist, an older man named Pyrin, calmly replied in a matter-of-fact fashion, "your expedition isn't scheduled to depart for another hour and a half; you haven't be debriefed on the woods yet; and finally, the guide who was supposed to escort your party was injured last night and we are awaiting confirmation on who is taking Dagan's place as guide. Even assuming that Dagan's replacement was here right now, there's still plenty of prep work yet to do before you would be clear to enter the woods."

"Especially on a deep run that goes right along the Canyon rim," Ahsch added, walking forward.

The woman whirled around, glaring at the hrafthi, though that expression quickly morphed through confusion, then shock, then back to anger. "And who the fuck are you?"

"My name is Ahsch, this is Mahat, and based on... well, the everything about this little scene, I'm Dagan's replacement for your expedition, 'Miss Starr.'"

Pyrin gave the boy a pitying look, one subtly mirrored by the large man who could only be the woman's attendant/bodyguard.

Miss 'Starr' glared at Ahsch as though trying to kill him with her gaze alone.
