Internal Conflict

For the rest of the semester, a stupid zombie named Arthur Adams wandered clumsily through the halls of Saint Valeria's, bumping into everything, barely aware of his own existence, unable to pay attention even when the teachers spoke directly to him, as words had vanished from his mouth.

«She kissed me... She really kissed me!»

The constant memory of what had happened in the library was all that occupied his mind. He relived, every so often, the sweet and warm touch he'd had with the most popular girl in the university. It had taken him an hour to process what he'd experienced in that moment.

Without seeking it, he'd entered a completely abnormal situation. He'd never interacted with girls, and suddenly the one who hated him the most had stolen his first kiss. And on top of that, there was her seductive invitation.

«I'll come for you! That's... that's what I heard. Did she really say it with THAT intention? No no no...it can't be real, I must still be **** in the infirmary or it's a macabre joke of hers...if it has to be that....Right?» he rambled nonstop while making unintelligible scribbles in the notebook.

Arthur's more rational side was making a tremendous effort to rouse him, warning him that what had happened with Nova was too good to be true. It couldn't be genuine that something so wonderful was happening to him out of the blue.

In a way, it made sense. Nova didn't even know his name; she lived in contempt for his existence there, and until today, they had never had a decent conversation.

«That must be the reason, Arthur. There's no other explanation. If I go, I'm sure she'd be waiting for me with a fireball and several girls ready to record the embarrassing moment... but... but... she seemed so sincere... oh shit, and she was hot.»

And, of course, the main enemy of common sense in any young person couldn't be missing from this chaos... hormones!

That kiss unleashed absolute chaos within a boy just emerging from puberty. All logic was being annihilated by a torrent of adolescent lust that screamed at him to run into Nova's arms.

«Don't go, it's a damn trap!... But God, that tight outfit... mmm... those legs... those big breasts... damn, my dick won't stop hurting.»

His head spinning, he couldn't decide what to do. He was torn between refusing or accepting the redhead's invitation. He'd choose one option, only to change his mind seconds later.

«I won't go along with that nonsense, I won't fall for her tricks... mmm... What if there's more to it than that kiss? I could be serious,» he thought as he chewed on his pencil.

That's how the last class went. If Arthur had been more aware of his surroundings, he would have noticed the numerous female eyes following him, or the flushed cheeks that appeared whenever he got too close to a girl.

In the end, after an exhausting internal debate, he decided not to go along with whatever Nova was planning against him. His logic was sound: the chances of a goddess like her noticing a mere Hollow were practically nil.

There was just one small problem... "His other head" had its own ideas!

Before his dazed mind could fully grasp what was happening, he was hurrying toward the main entrance at the agreed-upon time. There he stood at the door, unsure of what to do, much less what Nova had in store for him.
