Interlude

A youngman was crying hard,nesting his head on the lap of a girl as she was comforting him.

The man calmed down under her hands sayin"Iam very sorry Miss.I ruined the chance you gave me.I was unable to protect the shop".

The girl's face was full of sympathy as she replied "Dont worry.Its just one shop.Iam glad that everyons is safe.Dont worry about money.I will employ everyone in other outlets.Take this week off".

The man wiped his tears away as he bowed to her again and left the room.

Seeing the man leaving the room,the woman let out a sigh saying"Why did it came to this?.Prince phillip,i thought we had special immunity for our shops?".

The man named phillip who was sitting on her left all this time looked at her replying"i myself dont know. My father refuse to elaboate further since he is still against our relationship.But iam sure that it is not my father doing nor anyother polical opposition".

He moved closer to her as she cuddled into him as he continued saying"I already deployed my own intelligence members.Lets wait and see what they discover".

The woman calmed down slightly saying"I was only doing good.Why is everyone against me.Those poor people would strave to **** or will get scammed by bad people if i havent employed them".

The woman made up her mind and turned to prince phillip saying"But i wont give up.This is just a hurdle god had designed for me.Let us gather more power amomg commoners so that no evil can touch us without consequences".

The prince smiled brightly at her confidence and empathy as it was the reason he fell in love with her the first place.He patted her head saying"You are truly like a saintess unlike that figurehead".

The shadow which left the fire finally came to its destiny as it sneaked into the only lit room in a big mansion.

The room was empty and serene and the only thing that is audible is the scratching of pen.The man's breathing was almost unnoticeable as if he is dead.

The shadow presented herself as it kneeled down infront of him saying"I have something urgent to report My Lord".

The man stopped what he is doing and stood up as the shadow struggled to keep her position due to sheer pressure eminated from the man.

The name of the person before the shadow is named Duke Julius Albert,also called as the Sun of the Empire.

The Absolute idol of justice in the kingdom.The supreme head of the every guard deployed both in and out of the kingdom including royal guards aside from some private ones.

The shadow bowed its head saying"I apologize my lord but the shop of the girl was burnt to ground this night.One of the suspects is the former dutchess heir Scarlet and the other s presumed to be her new husband but i was unable to confirm his identity in the records we have".

The duke took in the info as he mulled over his thoughts on what to doas the shop has his own protection too.

The duke simply asked the shadow saying"I noticed that you referred to her as former dutchess and not by her present assigned title ".

The shadow's eyes widened in shock as it slammed its head to ground saying"Iam very sorry my lord. It slipped my tongue.I will be careful from now on".

Duke waved it off saying"I dont care who the culprits even if its the emperor.They must be prosecuted.You will now have a new mission.Track the figure and monitor him daily.I need every information you can possibly get".

The shadow nodded its head and vanished silently as duke walked towards his window for some fresh air.

He saw that the moon was shining brightly in the night sky as he smiled whispering to himself saying"So he is finally making a move!.I was getting bored to ****.Show me something new that your father failed to do.Break this farce of the disguting peace we have".

The door behind him opened as a small figure entered the room saying"You look awfully happy father.Its been a while since i saw that big of a smile on you".

Duke Julius turned his head to the person asking him and smiled in pride.

The person standing infront him was wearing a silk nightgown holding some books in their hands.

It was the only daughter of the Duke.If the duke is embodiment of the sun,then his daughter was like a mini sun.Almost as if her body was dripping with gold.

She has a rather voluptuous body for her young age with golden blonde hair reaching her waist with ocean blue eyes.

The duke internally smiled seeing the books in her hand but instantly chaned his expression saying"Seems like you are still studying those books.You dont need to stain yourself before your marriage.You would have plenty of time to complete those books tens of times afted you tied the knot.Now go to sleep.Dont ruin your body.Its 2.00am".

The daughter's eyes widened at her fathers remarks as a pained expression appeared on her face when marriage is mentioned.She tried to appeal to her father saying"About my marriage,father.You need to be more strict with that girl. My fiance is..".

Her words were cut of by her father yelling at her saying" ELANOR!.How many times do i have to tell you.The state of a significant other depends heavily on their other half.If your fiancee is causing problems,that means you are failing at your job.Dont ever complain about this matter again.Now go to bed.You have graduating exams in a few weeks".

The daughter now names elanor became emotionless and simply bowed her head saying"As you wish my lord.Iam sorry for disturbing your sleep.I excuse myself".

She closed the door behind her and walked to her room as her eyes were surprising despite the pain her heart is in right now as it was her duty to fulfill.

Seeing her daughter going away after calling him lord rather than father,a look of sympathy appeard on the duke's face as he said"Iam sorry my dear daughter.But you need these tribulations to suceed and mold into a better character.I pray you hold on for another month".
