They walk through the forest when they both encounter something they haven't seen for some time... snow. pristine white snow is covering the ground before them and the trees atop, even though it is warm and the trees show needles and leaves
"I did see some strange stuff in theses lands, but that's a first for me."
“At this point I shouldn’t be surprised anymore.” Jack lean down and pick up some snow.
"be careful where you step. there could be traps"
Jack makes a loosely formed snowball and toss it her way.
“Will do Little red.”
Pippa didn't have anticipated that childish behavior
"Yikes! Heyyy!"
Giving to the impulse, Pippa gather some snow to craft a crude ball to retaliate on Jack
but Pippa's feet weren't firmly set on snow, and she loose grip, then fall on the ground
Jack tries his best not to laugh as he come over to help her up.
"grmmmhhbllmmhhbl" Pippa grumbles as she gets up
“You ok?” Jack ask her while he checks her over.
"yeah... only hurt my pride a little"
“That’s nothing to bad all things considered.” he tell Pippa patting her shoulder. “Let’s tread carefully until we make camp. Maybe then we can romp in the snow.” he stand up and get start examining the path ahead.
Pippa sighs and grunts but doesn't clarify what her answer exactly mean, as she follows Jack
Pippa walks carefully in the snow, watching for slippery patch.
the snow seems fresh and soft, while the snow is cold the weather seems still good and warm, a bit cooler than usual but by no means cold enough to freeze
“Warm day with snow. Yeah this is the highlight of weird so far.” Jack says moving through the snow. he look back to see if Pippa is having any trouble walking due to her height.
as they explore they see icebirds flying around, some snow rabbits hopping on. but every now and then they catch a glimpse of something that shines and glitters in the light, something big that seems to move through the snow, or maybe with the snow, and it seems rather big
Jack stops Pippa. “Do you know what that might be?” Pointing at the big shiny thing.
"hmmmm, let's see..."
Pippa tries to identify the lights
while they investigate, they find the creature responsible for the strange phenomen. a big lizard with shillering scales made of ice is wandering the forest. the reptile doesn't seem hostile, it is slowly walking the forest. happy to stop every now and then and marvel at its own **** creation. around it snow falls from seemingly nowhere and further away it just brings snow, a trail through the forest that slowly melts whenever it wanders on
“Should we call out to it?” Jack asks Pippa. “It seems to be nice.”
"fine by me"
Jack walks forward calling out to the creature. “Hello, do you speak common?”
the creature is more animal than anything else and gives them an empty look, seeing only if they are friend or foe, but then trots further through the snow, happy and delighted on the snow falling around it
“I guess it is neutral to us. What should we do now?”
"i don't really know, it doesn't seem threatning for now, but we should be careful of thoses lights"
“Want to take a break and play in the snow or keep moving?” Jack ask while forming another snowball in hishands.
those lights are sunlight reflecting from its scales. the ice lizard is creating this strange phenomen but its just a big frost lizard, nothing more.
"I don't really see how playing in the snow would help... but if you start i'll try to deffend myself"
“It will relax us a bit. Let us unwind. But you are the leader. So what you say goes.”
"i rather feel it like a fellowship, i'm not really a leader"
Jack just toss the snowball into the air. Not really caring where it goes as it is loosely packed.
“Let’s get going. My fur is starting to get cold."
"ok, let's find a warmer zone to make camp"
Jack choose their direction and start walking. Making sure that Pippa doesn’t fall in the snow.
Pippa follows Jack
the frost lizard stomps away, blissfully ignorant of anythingother than the snow
