Intercepted

As she left her eyes met the familiar female nord from before. She felt hurt and embarrassed as the nord looked at her. “Thanks for the help,” Commander Maro said. “Here’s your reward.”

He handed the nord a huge bag of gold. “Actually there’s a change of plans,” she said. “Maven Black Briar offered more. She comes with me.”

“What?” Commander Maro growled. “But…”

“Do you want to try to oppose the Black Briar family? Even you can’t be that stupid,” the nord said.

Commander Maro sighed. “Fine. Take her.”

The nord nodded as Commander Maro turned to walk away. But just as he did, the nord took her ebony sword, grabbed him by the neck, and stabbed him in the back. “Maven sends her regards,” she whispered as he collapsed on the ground.

She then grabbed Astrid’s hand and they teleported away just as the arrows came flying.
