Inspiration

How could it be Friday again? The last few days went by way too fast and you haven't earned much yet. You need a new strategy, something innovative to get the business going again, but what?

The door opened and an older man came in.

"Gunther , how are you?" the man asked.

You knew the man well. He had been a regular customer of yours since you and Mira opened the Inn. As far as you know, he comes here regularly to hide from his wife, who, despite her age, just couldn't stop bearing him children. He is said to have eleven children by now. No wonder he takes refuge in **** here.

"Could be better," you answer him.

Without him having to ask you, you start pouring him a beer. And directly a second one. You know him well enough to know that he never leaves your inn with less than two beers.

"Nothing going on huh?"

"No shit," you say, pointing to the empty tables.

"You've got to do it like the big inns in the capital. With events and stuff."

"Events?" you ask.

"Yeah. Shows. Music or dancers. You'll have a hard time getting them in here in the backwoods though haha."

"And anyway..." the farmer continued. ".. The folks here don't give a shit about dancers and culture. All they care about is booze and women. Unless of course the person dancing is a woman. And naked hahaha"

The farmer laughed, but he was right. You would never find a decent art troupe willing to perform here. Let alone be able to pay them.

"But hey Gunther , I might know someone for you. Well, I know someone who has a brother whose work colleague, the boss has a daughter-in-law who is married to..."

"Get to the point," you say flatly.

"I think I know someone who could play here. Thing is, he's a bit.... well, you'll see."

"Thank you, I'll think about it," you say and indeed, the idea is not so stupid. You advertise a musician or some other kind of show, attract customers, and then try to sell as much food and drink as possible during the show.

"No problem man, anything for an old friend."
