A fun plan dropped into my head, I couldn't stop myself from speaking it. "You are interested in him as well?" After he nod I started explaining my plan to her... Well only the part of the plan that I wanted her to know. "Well, maybe you should put some pressure on him, feign interest in another and he should ask you before you get stolen away." I wasn't that interested in her exclusively with me, if anything satisfying her emotionally as well just seemed like a hassle when there was already a guy interested in that part.

"What? You mean a guy like you?" She leaned in with a smirk, of course the guy was watching us so he came back to us then. Her expression still said she was going to think about it first before deciding, though with the way this guy acted she will definitely agree. I was expecting him to tell me to back off or else from the look on his face. Instead he spoke in a surprisingly calm voice. "Can I speak with you alone?" His gaze was on me as he spoke, but then quickly went to her continuing to speak. "Alone if I could please?" He was much nicer when talking with her.

She stood quickly and left while saying "We'll talk about this later then." He was silent for a while before speaking. "What are you doing with her!" His tone was obviously indicating he wasn't happy with me hitting on her. It was time to make him think I had already succeeded in wooing her. I had no doubt that his 'confession' was going to be something like 'You should avoid that guy! He's dangerous.' But then her not knowing what he's talking about she'd deny him.

"Oh, shit sorry. Are you two dating?" he went sheepish quickly before replying. "No, we aren't... But-" I didn't let him finish, I knew he was going to say more but that would effectively put her in the 'already claimed' territory. So I spoke quickly acting immensely relieved with a large breath of air. "Oh, that's a relief. I don't want to be known for stealing someone's girl." I smiled slightly hoping I gave off the correct impression.

It seemed I did as he just opened and closed his mouth like a fish not knowing what to say. But if I left him like that I figured he would do something stupid or start shouting at me to stay away. So I stood up wrapped an arm around his shoulders, making sure to press a bit harder than normal with a fake hearty laugh. "Haha! Well, now that you're-"

A blow on the back of my head shocked me out of my speach. Taylor had smacked me across the head. "Shut up you idiot, you're still in the library." I could only meekly nod before she left. No doubt if she didn't know what I was doing she'd have been a bit more stern.

I went back to the small guy under my arm, this time whispering. "Right, I got a bit excited there... So why don't you tell me what you are? I can tell you two aren't human and my magical knowledge is a bit limited so explain it for me." This was mainly to distract him from the things he was thinking about but it would be helpful for me as well.
