Infiltration

The response is instant:

'You drive in on the stolen German military car wearing your high ranking SS uniforms. Three strangers coming into a small German village would demand explanation and SS officers didn't take demands so the ruse was ideal among the villagers who probably didn't know much of what was going on in the lab. You stop the truck out front of the villages lone inn and waste little time informing the clerk that you're commandeering the largest room on official nazi business. He offers little resistance and directs his subordinate to carry your luggage. An offer you refuse lest the noisy man find any of the weapons and contraband you were bringing in.

After you brought everything up to the room Jake suggests you split up to gather intelligence while Tony keeps watch of the room from the inn's common area and notes who comes and goes. You like the idea. Less than an hour after arriving Jake is heading to the trains station while you head to the nearby tavern to see if German scientists have the same tendency to get drunk and reveal a little more than they should that you knew American scientists to possess.

You walk up to the bar and order a stein of authentic German beer from an authentic, and buxomly, German beer maiden. The war made you despise the nazi government but was unable to harden your heart to the German people many of which you knew growing up in Chicago as it was a common destination of their diaspora. This fondness was never more pronounced than in a proper German beer hall.

This being a small German village the hall consists only of a few tables and the bar. You estimate at maximum capacity this place could hold six or seven dozen Germans. Now however, barely 5pm on a Thursday, there was just seven other patrons. Five husky men that from the dirt and broad shoulders you picked out as farm boys in after a long day's work. You probably wouldn't get anything useful out of them. The other two gentlemen however had slight builds and hands devoid of callouses.
