Inari Star

Is it supposed to be Mel this time? They seem to alternate... You find yourself in the sea of stars once more, waiting to ask the dark god about some recent revelations.

"Dusk? Where are we?"

What? You look around, spotting the translucent form of the blond kitsune as she begins tugging on your arm. "Kara? How are you even here?" And what will she think when she finds out that I'm still talking to Mel and Carn?

She pulls herself closer to you and grips your hand. "I...don't know, really. We went to sleep, and the next thing I know, I'm here with you." Her gaze drifts around.

"Uh, well, this is where I normally end up when I dream. At least, that's what it's been like the past week." You rub the back of your head, unsure how much you should tell her.

"You get to see this...every night?" She giggles, continuing to take in the scenery. "And you were jealous of me before..."

So she remembers? That's good. Great way to keep myself from going too far. "Yeah. Sadly, I've gotten a bit used to it."

Kara sits down in a kneeling position - I can sit here? - before she seemingly pats the space next to her. "Are you getting used to it, or have you not taken in the sight for what it is?" You sit next to her as she continues. "Anyway, how did you enjoy being me?"

"It was...an experience. I can't say I didn't enjoy it, but you really have a thing for Camilla, don't you?" You chuckle.

"Did I never deny that? I just hope we're not confusing her more..." She looks down and away from you.

"What do you mean?"

"She...may have a crush on you..."

"Oh, that? God's Eye told me that a while ago." You lean back on your hands.

"Then...why haven't you done anything? You even tried to set us up with each other!" She furrows her brow in confusion.

You shrug. "Because you already liked her, and when I talked to her about it, it was pretty clear she liked you, too. I didn't wanna get in between you two."

She smiles. "Thanks. If she talks to you about it though, I won't be hurt if you...you know."

You blink. "Um...thanks? Wow, didn't expect that... I guess I'm used to monogamy where I'm from."

"Monogamy?"

"Yeah, where people only have one partner. I haven't heard of many cases of polygamy where I'm from." You continue when you see her confused face again. "Polygamy is multiple partners."

"Ah." She falls silent, turning to the starscape, and you take the lull to take a look at the day's minimal experience gain.

"What's that?" Kara leans over to look at the screen that's popped up in front of you.

"Oh, this helps keep track of how much experience I have and how close I am to getting stronger. The gods use it to help people from other worlds adapt more easily. And I can pull up the rest of my stats here." You conjure up your 'sheet'.

"Huh. Now I wish we all had this. I caught a glimpse when you used God's Eye earlier, but this seems...thorough." She reads through, eventually spotting the new quests you have. "Breed the Empress?" She raises an eyebrow to you. "Really? Isn't the plan to stop the Empress from breeding?"

One of the gods is probably listening, so I need to be careful... "The gods have their reasons for these quests. I already told you I'm supposed to take down the Saintesses." You point to that quest as you make your point. "They probably want some super hybrid monster to come out of it. If I'm being honest, I'm a bit curious too, but I've only met her once and she's pissing me off."

Kara contemplates in silence, reading through the rest of your stats. Meanwhile, you take her advice and actually look at the stars around you. You don't know why the gods aren't in a talking mood tonight, but... It's actually nice to enjoy the peace up here...

Where is he? It crawls along the ground, careful to avoid the errant gaze of drunkards moving about. He's around here somewhere...I can smell him... It comes upon a larger building with several additions. He's spent time here...in this room... It approaches one of the windows and sneaks in. ...but he's not here now...hm?...what's that smell? It crudely opens the weird wood box and stumbles upon some fabric. This...smells like someone else... I think...a woman? Maybe she's tasty, too...
