Chapter 3 by tk420 tk420

Where do we start this new adventure?

In the worst place possible.

I stare around the void I seem to find myself in, weighing the options before me. I wouldn't say I'm an evil person, so **** and pillaging the world doesn't sound that enticing to me. At the same time, being a good person doesn't sound too great to me either. I think about my options carefully for a moment, then make my decision. As soon as I've confirmed it in my mind, I feel my stomach jump into my throat like I'm about to throw up. It's impossible to tell which way I'm going in a featureless void, but I seem to be falling. The darkness around me steadily become brighter and brighter, until it's too bright for me to keep my eyes open any longer. I shut my eyes tightly, and hope that wherever I end up in this new world won't be too dangerous.

When I open my eyes I notice two things. Firstly, I don't so much as open my eyes, as I gain a growing awareness of the world around me. I can see everything around me in a 360 degree view, somehow comprehending all of this in a way that only slightly hurts my head. The second thing I notice is the shocked faces of the people around me. Remembering one of my abilities, I stare at one of them to get some more information.

...I'm so fucking dead. I quickly move off of the podium I was apparently sitting on. I must have moved just in time, because the guard I was inspecting crashed his halberd into the podium less than an inch from the back part of me. I crawl, or wiggle, or slither, or whatever the proper term is my way across the ground. "THAT SLIME HAS EATEN OUR GOD'S ALMA!" I hear the guard shout from behind. "KILL IT BEFORE IT CAN DEFILE OUR GOD ANY FURTHER!" As if I needed another reason to quickly leave this place behind. The rest of the guards have snapped out of their stupor and join on attacking me with their halberds. They must be too angry to think properly, cause I shouldn't be dodging of their swipes and slashes right now, but I keep barely succeeding. I make my way down a long corridor, narrowly slipping by the guards' attack until I spot a woman opening a door as she walks out of a room. I have no idea what the room she just came out of is, but right now it's my only hope of losing these guards.

The sight of serval fully armored knights chasing a small slime must look pretty terrifying, cause the woman screams and runs away, leaving the door open. I rush into the room, only to see a couple more women and several small stalls. I quickly realize that this is a bathroom, and one without windows at that. With no other options, I move farther into the bathroom, spooking the women who are washing their hands. I slip underneath each of the stalls, making it harder for the guards to hit me or grab me. Finally, I make it to the last stall, which happens to be empty, and jump onto the toilet. I peer down into the bottom of the toilet and see that it is thankfully spotless. I hear the guards about to yank open the stall door, so I move to pull the flusher and hop into the toilet. I quickly get dizzy from the spinning motion, but the last thing I see before I'm flushed away is the guard's face, right before he plunges a hand into the water to make one last attempt at grabbing me. He doesn't succeed, and my vision goes dark as I move down the pipe.

It's hard to tell how long I was in that pipe for, on account of everything sloshing around and it being pitch black, but eventually I find myself spit out into some kind of canal. The "water" in the canal isn't moving very fast, so I'm able to right myself and climb out of it onto some kind of pathway. I don't have lungs in this new body, but I still feel the painful sensation that comes with not being able to breath for so long. I relax over the ground, trying not to think about whether or not my gelatinous body absorbed any of the "water" while I was in the canal. Before too long, I hear a voice coming from somewhere nearby. "I can't believe you just did that." I look around, trying to figure out where that voice is coming from. As I look around, I realize that it's actually quite bright in, what I can only imagine is, this place's sewer. I find the source of the light before I find the source of the voice. Looking inside myself, somehow, I see a beautifully cut gem that's letting out a calming bright light.

Barely a second later, I feel the gem shift inside me and the image of the God of light, Ariel, begins to materialize in front of me, or what I think is my front anyway. Right now he looks completely pissed off, and is only barely able to stop himself from shouting at the top of his godly lungs. "I can't believe you would do something like that. First you go against my wishes and choose me to be your guardian angel, even though I already told you no. And then the first thing you do once you arrive is throw yourself down a toilet. I knew you darkies love dark and dank places like this, but for the love of Me, couldn't you have had a little bit of restraint?!" Ariel's voice travels down the quiet sewer system, bouncing off the walls, before eventually echoing back to us.

How should I respond?
