Chapter 147 by CaptainPulse
What's next?
In the dark of the night
Hilda poked her head out of the crevice, looking around to see if the coast was clear. Fortunately, it seemed that there were no predators in sight. Taking Tina's hand, she slowly stepped out into the open until both women were basking in the night air, butt naked.
"Come on," Hilda whispered, crouching down and running into the grassy underbrush on the edge of the forest, Tina at her heels. Being so small, their feet made little to no sound as they ran, leaving them quite silent as they moved through the grass. As they moved into the treeline, Tina pulled up a single blade of grass and tied it around her hip like a belt. She wasn't entirely sure when she'd need to carry things, but having the means to do so was always helpful.
Parting a couple of fallen leaves, Hilda looked up at the massive trees, imagining what kinds of creatures might have been lurking in the canopy or under the roots. Everything was a danger at this size, so she had to be on her guard at all times. Taking a few tentative steps into a small clearing, Hilda and Tina stood back-to-back, butt-to-butt, as they slowly moved forward. Their eyes darted around at every gust of wind, every slight crack from a leaf hitting the ground, trying to spot any potential predators before they spotted them.
"I think we're safe for now," Hilda said. Moving up against a tree, she pressed her back against the bark, finding it surprisingly less rough than she was used to. She had a lot of experience being naked in these woods, not that she'd admit it, and she knew how a tree felt on her bare back and butt. Perhaps the pattern of the bark was simply too big for it to feel scratchy. Another reminder of how **** she was at the moment.
Tina, for her part, was still looking up at the canopy. "Do you think any birds will spot us down here?"
Hilda shook her head. "Bats, maybe, but I doubt we'll find any this close to the edge of the forest."
Tina just nodded, looking askance. She opened her mouth as if to ask a question when both women heard the distinct sound of grass and leaves rustling a few meters away. Hilda held up her acorn shield and needle, and Tina, lacking any proper weapons of her own, simply held up her fists. As they braced for what was to come, the converging creature leaped out of a pile of leaves.
What is the creature?
