Chapter 3 by frogogre1 frogogre1

So, where do we start?

In a convenient store

I was just about done putting up the last of the paint. It had been quiet so far, which made you a happy camper. Because god only knows when the last time Gotham was quiet at night. Although knowing that I'm probably the crazy one for working the night shift.

As your average 5'11 brunette guy that lives in Gotham, I can tell you it is truly strange. I haven't heard anything tonight. Not even the usual crazy people trying to get me to worship demon this or Cthulla that.

Then I notice it's too quiet, as in, it's now dead silent. Which causes me to remember I haven't heard from even my coworkers on the night shift. I'm a little now. then I begin to feel a stare that sends a cold chill down my spine that I'm pretty sure means the reaper is eyeing me.

So, I do the stupidest thing I've ever done in my life, and instead of running for it, I turn around, and there in the flesh is the clown prince of crime and his girl Harley Quinn. All I can think is I should have run.

"Well, hello there, my good man. I've come here for that paint there as well as some other goodies. So, if you wouldn't mind, bring a good little helper." Said the joker, a dark grin plastered across his face.

"Of course, Mr. Joker, sir, please help yourself if you need any help. (Hopefully helping will stop him from maiming or killing me until help gets here." Said the employee, a nervous smile on his face as he tried to be as compliant as he could be.

"Well, if isn't service with a smile. Well, the joker never turns away a smile, isn't that right, Harley?" Said joker, his dark grin somehow became more malevolent as he turned to speak to Harley.

"Righto pudding," said Harley Quinn with a bright smile. In an equally bright outfit. That didn't match the very dangerous, life-threatening situation that the employee had found himself in.

The employee begins loading cart after cart into a joker-themed car as joker and Harley take their pick of whatever they want from the store. Once they were done, the employee waited next to their getaway car, ready to see them off, not running away, afraid of being shot in the back if he tried to make a break for it.

So having **** but to be on camera cheerfully helping the joker because if he didn't, he was pretty sure he would be shot, and that was only if the joker wasn't feeling particularly creative, and you wouldn't like it when the joker gets creative.

"So did you find everything you wanted, Mr. Joker?" Asked the very nervous employee as he stood next to the joker getaway car as joker and Harley made their way over.

"Yes, I did, and you gave such great service with a smile, didn't he Harley?" Said joker, his grin beginning to stretch ear to ear as he spoke to Harley. Hit teeth somehow glowing in the dark night, giving the employee the feeling he wasn't looking at a criminal clone as he was a ghoul.

"Yes, he did pudding," said Harley Quinn with a cheery smile as she made her way over her steps, causing her to jiggle enticingly in her colorful outfit. He distracted the employee for just a second before he turned his full attention back to the joker.

"Well then," the joker said as he finally looked at the employee's name tag. "Jim, I believe you deserve a tip," said the joker, and before Jim could respond, the joker's hand went under his coat and squeezed a special pump in his jacket, causing his fake flower on his purple tuxedo to spew acid into Jim's left eye.

"Aaaaaaaa," Jim screams out pain as he rolls on the cold pavement of the parking lot. "You can keep the change, Jim. I believe it's time to head out to spread laughter and joy to the rest of Gotham Harley," said the joker with a malicious laugh.

He then grabs Harley, quickly throwing her in the getaway car before she can respond, and then drives off. The last thing Jim sees is the batmobile appearing in hot pursuit as he faints from the sheer pain.

How does Quinn make up for it ?
