It hadn’t been easy to.

Six months of talking and searching and bribing and reading between the lines of everything from small-town newspapers and coroners reports to blog posts and bathroom graffiti.

She had lost work, lost money, lost friends even over this one single story.

Yet as she slunk through the bushes towards the sounds of car engines in the oppressive wet heat of the nighttime swamp, she knew it was all going to be worth it.
