Important talk

As I enter the kitchen, I see a woman I don’t recognize over the sink, she seems to be washing some potatoes.

“Huh… Hello? Who are you?” I ask confused.

Did Matt invite someone over? Is that the neighbor he’s become friends with?

However, as the girl turns around I understand I was mistaken.

“Matt?”

I look at my roommate as he becomes red.

“T-that’s me… B-before you say anything… T-the app did that… on it’s own.” He tells me as if I didn’t see him buy the two Femininity perks.

Still, I can’t get over the sudden change the perks did, he looks so different now, with longer hair, a more feminine face, and a body that pretty much looks like a girl without boobs.

“I see. Do you want to talk about your changes? That’s a lot.” I say, thinking back to earlier and the distress I was in when I took the perk from him.

He nods, and he stops what he was doing to sit at the table.

“S-so, I saw that your changes have a tendency to make you girlier…” I start.

He looks at his hands and steal a glance at my face.

“Do you like the change?” He asks before looking down again.

“I-I don’t think it’s a sane way to look at it.” I try to avoid answering him.

“Maybe, but do you like it?” He asks again, this time maintaining his gaze.

We look into each other’s eyes for a few seconds as I try to formulate my opinion.

“I-I guess I do, you are becoming really cute and I like it.” I let out before looking down myself.

I shouldn’t encourage him like that and instead make sure that’s what he wants.

“Listen Matt, ignore what I just said. What do you want? Do you actually want to be girlier? Or are you just okay with it because I wouldn’t mind?” I say, ready to disable every perk affecting him at any point.

He takes some time thinking of an answer and I simply wait for him to answer.

“Okay John, I’ll tell you what I feel since it seems you’re more affected than I thought.”

I let out a sigh of relief.

“So, the truth is, I don’t think I wanted to become more feminine at first, the app rewards were weird and changed me in ways I didn’t want to. But at the same time, I don’t think I minded that much, I already hated how I look in the mirror, so what if I looked more androgynous as well.”

I feel bad, I didn’t know he felt that bad about his body, I should have invited him to exercise with me long ago, maybe that would have helped.

“After a while, getting changed some more, I actually felt okay about the person looking back at me in the glass. I started talking with the neighbors and they treat me well, my new voice really helps me with my streams…”

“Those are good, but do you want the change to keep going?”

“Yes. I want to become girlier. The app can do that, and everytime it does I feel better about myself and my life improves with it.”

I’m relieved, I know I didn’t really understand what I did when I first added Matt as a target, but knowing he actually likes the changes makes me feel like I didn’t do too bad of a job.

“I’m glad as long as you become happier.” I say but he seems to pout _cutely _at that.

“John… You find me more attractive now right?”

I nod and he continues.

“Then… How would you feel about…” He hesitates, and I’m not sure what he’s asking.

“M-maybe it’s still too early…”

I try to help him.

“What is it Matt? You know you can tell me anything, we’re best friends!” I tell him and he smiles.

“Maybe I’ll tell you later.” He says as he stands up to go work on our meal again.

I don’t want to pressure him too much, I’m already happy he talked about his feelings with me.

“Hey, how about eating in front of a movie tonight?” I suggest, and he agrees, so I go to the living room to prepare it.

We eat in front of a mystery movie, where a detective must find out who’s the murderer before he creates more victims.

The movie is okay, but pretty slow, and once we’re done eating (And Matt washed our plates) we start getting drowsy. After a while, Matt falls asleep on the sofa next to me, and I decide to stop the movie.
What I didn’t expect, was that he would fall on my lap as I move around grabbing the remote.
I look down at his sleeping face, and I move a strand of hair out of his face.
He must have been exhausted, between his big stream and our earlier talk, I can understand why he would fall asleep, I’m also pretty tired myself.
I want to move but I look at his sleeping face some more, he has an innocent girly face, and now that I can look at it without shame, I see that it is pretty much my type.
I hold myself back and slowly move myself out, letting his head rest on the couch and I flee to my room.

I go to bed and my thoughts get interrupted by a message I receive on my phone.
It’s Rita asking me if I want to join her on Sunday when she’ll visit a bookstore where a famous writer is going to sign her books. I’m surprised she’s inviting me somewhere on her own, since I didn’t even give her a quest.
I agree to go with her, and I add that to my mental calendar.

(Cotton’s POV)

Is this shitty app serious? A FUCKING SECRETARY? No fucking way! Not a chance, I’m the one giving orders not receiving them!

I want to sue whoever made this game, but I can’t since I don’t know who and it’s magic. I was happy when I saw it gave me a free perk yesterday after I read this book I borrowed. I tried it out, and it actually felt like I read faster than before.

The book also wasn’t that bad I guess, it was some dumb wish fulfillment story but it was pretty innofensive I guess.

That makes me think I’ll have to pass by the library to return it.

I check my phone again, I think I heard a sound come from it, but it must be my imagination.
While I’m at the library, I should also serve John a coffee.
But just this once! It’s to thank him, for always putting up with me.
It doesn’t mean I won’t mock him while I’m here though. This loser deserves to be laughed at.
And it’s been a while since someone talked to me without trying to get in my pants, so I guess I kinda missed that too.

(Rita’s POV)

“June… I sent it yesterday.” I say as she leaves the bathroom after doing her makeup for the day.

“Really? And did he agree?” She asks and I nod.

“Girl! You got your first date! Aren’t you happy?” She says as she hugs me.

I like June’s hugs, they feel almost as good as this time I agreed to be Miss Maria’s partner at the gym.

My quest for today is actually pretty easy, I just need someone to take a photo of me in cosplay and June agreed to do that for me. I’ll just have to wait until later tonight.

(Matt’s POV)

This is the worst quest ever! Does the app think I have this much money on the side?

Quest :

• Make a design document for a vtuber avatar
• Make it as attractive as you can [optional]
• Commision the avatar

The first step is easy, technically the second shouldn’t be that hard either and it’s optional for once, but the third one would hurt a lot.
I received a commission sheet from Phina’s artist and a full Vtuber rig is 600$, that’s a month of my rent! If I buy it, I’ll go so deep into my savings I don’t know if it can be worth it.
I look at the reward, curious because of it’s uniqueness.

Reward : Vtuber Sync [S] perk

I played enough games to know that an S perk must be very good, and I’m scared to miss it. Who knows when I’ll get another opportunity? I hesitate while looking at the reward I want.

I guess I should start by making a design document, let’s see what’s available online.

(Maria’s POV)

Okay, today is going to be a good day, John forgave me yesterday and I even slipped in a hug. And my quest today is to give someone a massage. I don’t think my cat counts, so it’ll have to be John. Unless Rita comes by I guess, she seems to like me a lot, which is weird because we only worked out together twice. I wonder how I should feel about her, I like her, but not really as a partner, it’s like she’s just a kid and I want to protect her and hug her.

I’m also discovering that John might actually be my type. I thought I would end up only liking girls because my standard for men was too high, but I don’t know anymore, he’s kind, hot and the feelings I got when we kissed is unrivaled.

I pet my cat some more before grabbing my vest and leaving the house. This quest will be easy now that people think touching them is normal. I gave a hug to a neighbor I barely ever talked to yesterday to try it out, and she reacted like I just greeted her normally.

Ah the reward is also pretty good I guess.

Reward : Massage I perk

(Matt’s POV)

Why is this step so hard? I have my phone open by my side as I type into the document, and the second step doesn’t get ticked.

“Make the avatar as attractive as I can”... Isn’t that already what I did?

I described the avatar as a sexy older woman with long hair in a single ponytail that talks in a sultry voice. I guess I have to go farther into the stereotype I’m trying to use, I add that she wears a big apron over her dress, make her hold a big metal spoon and look back at the app.

Why is it still not satisfied when it is already the perfect anime housewife?

Fine, I’ll make her hair pastel pink and increase her breast size again, this time to something I find actually ridiculous (but arousing).
I’m a little ashamed at the idea of an artist reading this, but even more at the idea of actually using the rig myself.
I’m about to erase some of what I wrote, but I see the step getting checked and I stop.
So that’s what the app wanted? An avatar that’s straight out of an hentai?

Fine! I hope the reward will be worth it!

Author's Note : Since I liked having a poll last time and I'm curious, here is a popularity poll. It doesn't have an impact on the story and is just for fun, I bet the targets will be first since that's who we spend the most time with. I'll leave the polll open, so that people can vote when they reach this chapter, and I might open another one in a later chapter to compare how it evolved with time.
