Ignoring the Insanity
The empty alley did not answer his question. The stars hanging above his head also held their answers. The stillness felt damning. The sailor took a deep breath and decided to move along. If it was not a problem he could solve immediately, and was definitely far too bizarre to be ignored entirely he would simply make a plan. Wilkes decided just to go home. His walk after almost being stabbed was completely uneventful. He whistled an old work song Rangpar had taught him, something about an old chariot rolling along. He liked it enough to memorize the tune if not the words.
The door to his hut creaked open with a light push. Daisy snored loudly in the corner, curled up with her tail swishing against her face. He creeped quietly across his floor boards. When he returned to his bedroom, with all the refurbishments Beatrice had helped him with he found a small note on his bed.
“Wilkes, I know I over reacted. It wasn’t fair to punch you and avoid questions. Meet me where we shared our first kiss, at dawn after whatever night you read this on.” The slip of paper crumpled in his hand slightly. She felt like she needed to apologize? After he’d been running around confirming her fears. A smell tickled his nose. Bringing it in closer he could smell the faintest hints of lavender. He set it down gently on his bedside table. He stripped himself and crawled into his bed. Pulling the covers onto himself, he tossed and turned a bit before finally drifting to sleep.
When he wakes he won’t be alone in his bed. Looming over his sleepy form, Beatrice had decided not to wait any longer. Dawn hadn’t come yet, and she no longer waited in the woods. His doors had no locks, so she simply let herself in. She wanted to show how much she cared for him despite her outburst. Daisy already liked her so no barking came from the loyal hound. It was only sensible that she came to him. To envelop all of her senses with his wonderful presence. He lay beneath his covers, mumbling softly in his sleep. Stripping down, she leaned in and listened closely.
“Beatrice.. . gotta … sorry.” the sleeping sailor murmured so sweetly as she loomed over him. Her cheeks flushed as she cupped his sleeping face. He was dreaming of her! Unconsciously she straddled him with the bedsheets as the only gap. Something hard pressed against her thigh, and a hunger awoke in her heart. Carefully peeling the sheet back she drank in his nude form. Scarred, lean, and enthralling. She crawled all over him, her chest dragging all over his torso and arms. The supple flesh at times blocked her sight of him, she shoved the offending jiggling flesh out of the way. He smelled of sea salt and the oils he treated the planks with. He must have been working on the ship again.
Obsession took over, the half orc huntress began to plant kisses all over him. His neck, his jaw, his chest. She found herself traveling lower and lower. Her tongue lolled out and dragged between kisses as she finally reached his hip. He stirred in his sleep when she kissed his groin, the soft mumblings taking on a hint of confusion. She stayed deathly still until he settled again. This private moment of worship was meant to be her little secret, she could tell him in the morning. Right now she wanted to go uninterrupted.
Her true prize slowly grew taller in front of her eyes. She kissed the hardening length of his shaft, dragging her tongue all over the impressive cock as it spurred her further. A dribble of precum welled up at the tip and she immediately lapped it up. Savoring the wonderful, salty taste. The sensations were becoming overwhelming. The smell, the taste, the feel of him. It drove her mad. She pumped his shaft with one hand while staring up at his sleeping face. A ghost of a smile as he slept. The throbbing monster in her hand was a stark contrast.
Wilkes awoke to a sound of gagging and low moans. His eyes fluttered open to see the huntress, nude as the day she was born. His sheets a tangled mess at his calves while she prostrated herself in front of his fully erect cock. The member was plunging in and out of his courtship’s throat. A hazy look of obsession glazed her eyes. Slightly startled, he froze. There was no recognition in her eyes as she continued to bob up and down his length. She finally came up for air just to continue pumping his shaft. She raised her bust up to envelop him, shaking them like she knew he liked.
“Fuck… I hate to do this while he sleeps…” She whispered to herself. “But… by the gods it’ll keep him as mine.”
“Bea, what’re you doing?” Wilkes asked hoarsely. She stobbed jiggling her chest around his cock. She stared at him wide eyed, but didn’t back away. He could see the gears turning in her head.
“I’m… getting you off?” She asked quietly, she still refused to move from his cock.
“I can see that, but uh, why’d you sneak into my bed to do that?” Wilkes tried to remain calm. He stared harder at her, she began to idly pump his cock again before stopping.
“I couldn’t wait for dawn anymore, and it’s not like your door has locks. Plus we do this kinda stuff all the time when we aren’t fighting so…” Beatrice quickly tried to talk her way out of a corner. His mind reeled. She was doing this because she felt rejected?
“Bea I only just read the note, I was gonna head there as soon as I could. Ye didn’t have to sneak in here and suck my dick while I was sleeping to get me to show up.” He spoke plainly. He was definitely weirded out by her decision to just break in, but she had stalked him before so it wasn’t entirely out of the realm of her insanity. He did need to nip this idea in the bud however. “As much as I am enjoying the attention though, you need to leave.”
“But I thought this would be what you wanted? You love this kind of attention from me!” She crawled up to him as she spoke. Positioning her slit dangerously close to his tip.
“Bea, I love you, but you cannot break into my house for sexual favors. Can you imagine what would happen if I did that to you? My head would be on three separate pikes within the hour! Go home!”
“You… love me?” A wide smile grew on her face, a deep hunger seemed to redouble in her soul. “Wilkes, can I stay the night?”
“Beatrice, get out. You can sleep with me after dawn. Go home.” He promised her, but her smile wavered into a frown all the same. She looked at him with genuine confusion.
“But Wilkes, I love you, and you love me, and you’re already hard. Come on, let’s just do it. Just a quickie.” Beatrice playfully drew a heart on her chest with a single finger.
“No. Go. Home.” He spoke each word with force, carefully shoving her off of himself and the bed. He put some physical distance between himself and the huntress, trying to get the point across.
“Please baby, don’t leave me alone. They’ll get me too.” Beatrice pleaded with him. Wilkes stared at her in confusion.
“What? Who?”
“The Tide Reapers. They’ll kill me just like they did your mother. Then they’ll kill your apprentice. Then your dog. Then burn this whole island to ash.” Beatrice’s voice began to warp. An unsettling sound like an out of tune string instrument thrummed with each word. She lunged at him, her face disappearing behind a smooth plane of skin. Her fingers plunged into his chest with a crimson shower.
Wilkes bolted upright in his bed, patting himself down. No wound to be found, no half orc in his home. Dawn hadn’t come yet, nor were the birds singing. Daisy laid curled at his feet, snoring gently. He sighed heavily, a mix of relief and terror still running its course in his chest. His mouth was impossibly dry. He shook his head gently, swinging his legs off the edge of the bed being careful not to disturb Daisy.
He dressed himself and set out for the forest. The silence of the impossibly early morning engulfed him. No birds sung, no gulls cried, and the buzzing of insects was only a faint whisper. The people still wouldn’t be up for some time either. He saw her standing there, the first few rays of sunlight washed over her. She seemed to sparkle there. Her hair looked like silk, she nervously held her arms behind her back and paced slightly. He could see her chewing the inside of her cheek like she always did while nervous. He didn’t call out to her, instead intentionally stomping on a branch. The crack in an otherwise silent forest forced her gaze to snap towards him.
She looked at him wistfully. Like his coming here wasn’t a certainty. Neither of them ran to each other, he just kept slowly walking towards her. When he was a meager ten feet from her, they finally spoke in unison.
“Hi, I uh got your note”
“Good morning, see you read my note””
Wilkes chuckled at that and she seemed to only grow more flustered at them talking over each other. He pulled the rusted knife he had only half cleaned before learning it wasn’t within his wheelhouse to salvage. A befuddled stare from Beatrice prompted him to speak.
“It’s your knife, the one that got knocked into the stream when I tussled with Rangpar. I wanted to fix it up fully and give it to you. Just to prove I was thinking about you.” He said sheepishly, the rust was still evident but things were slightly better. “I also weeded the flowerbed you showed me a while back, just because… I care about you.”
Try as he might, the sailor couldn’t bring himself to say he loved her to her face while he was awake. The words burned on his lips and ran through his mind endlessly but he just couldn’t get them out yet. He needed to see her response, to hear what she called him out here for. The possibility of her ending things still lurked in the back of his mind. The huntress stared for a while, she was clearly milling about her own words.
“Wilkes… when you talked about love poems with Meryl, even though it was a joke, that hurt. Not because you haven’t done anything for me like that, but because you could consider doing that with another woman without thinking of my feelings. I know it was a joke now, Amy explained that to me.” Her voice was a little shaky as she spoke, clearly still hurt at what he had done. The sailor deflated. He opened his mouth to speak but she shook her head.
The two of them stood there, in the clearing they had first kissed. Where he had tackled her to the ground and been punched in his stitches. Where the attraction they’d both ignored had finally bubbled over.
“I need you to understand, it’s not a foreign idea to me. Sailors loving other women I mean, mom knows about dad’s women in other ports. But I don’t want that. I don’t want you running around with a bunch of other women I have never gotten to know. If you’re going to love me and other women, then I want to help you choose. If we don’t both like them, then you won’t be seeing them.”
Confusion warped his face. He had thought all of this storming off and sneaking about was going to be about bringing the end of their courtship. Now she was saying he could court her and others? His mind was reeling still as he jumped between ideas. Could he start something with Hannah? With Meryl? Why was she okay with this?
“Wilkes! Wiiiiilkes! Did I break you?” The half orc was now merely inches from his face. Instinctively he kissed her. His hands took a hold of her waist, holding her close. She returned the kiss, moaning softly into his lips.
“Bea, I uh, yeah, yeah.” Wilkes sputtered stupidly after breaking the kiss.
“If you keep kissing me like that, I’ll have to go and find more women for you to let that energy out on. You’re gonna bowl me over Wilkes.” Beatrice teased him. She wrapped her arms around his neck and stared at him lovingly.
“Right now I honestly don’t have an eye for any woman other than you.” Wilkes told her, he spoke softly before swallowing and finally working the words out. “I love you Beatrice.”
The half orc blinked. He had still spoken the words as far as she could tell. She blinked again. Several more blinks as realization settled into her mind. It was her turn to stutter stupidly. It was at least cute on her in Wilkes’s opinion.
“Wilkes you, you uh? Huh? You, you wha?” Beatrice spoke eloquently. He kissed her again, and said it as plainly as he could manage.
“I love you Beatrice Tellish.” Wilkes told her and the emerald beauty’s legs gave out. She didn’t quite faint, but instead melted onto him entirely. She made some kind of cooing noise in his ear while playing with his hair and giggling to herself. Her fingers hitched on the lace of his shirt. She tugged it gently so she could pull it off of him. He grabbed her wrist.
“You mind if I take it off myself, it’s a little trickier with only one sleeve.”
“What do you- Wilkes what happened to your shirt?!”
“Well I was getting wine to fix up your knife right? And the poor lass working the stand cut her hand on some broken glass, so I bandaged her with my shirt.” Wilkes explained calmly, she stared at him.
“How can you be so sweet but so stupid? You’re lucky I love you.” Beatrice huffed and pouted at him for a second. He smiled wide at her. She scrunched her face at him before processing what she said. “Well, I mean, you said it first! So it’s only fair if I say it too, right?”
He carefully tossed his shirt to the forest floor. He kissed her again, looking for a convenient spot to rut her out here. The prospect of it wasn’t bad, but being honest with himself the idea was hotter in his mind than in practice. He reached down and picked his shirt back up. She giggled when she figured out the conclusion he’d come to.
“Why don’t we go back to your place and finish what we started the other day?” her fingers danced along his collarbone.
There was little in the way of their path toward his bed. Clothing lay strewn in a trail of evidence from doorway to doorway: his shirt, followed by her top. Farther in, an overturned chair had caught his trousers on one of its legs. Beyond that, the bedroom door stood partly ajar, her skirt crumpled in the threshold. To an outsider it was very evident what had happened. Clearly the young couple had been attacked by sentient furniture. Small giggles echoed in the close quarters of his shack. The dull slap of flesh meeting filled the air. Within his newly restyled room, Beatrice was on all fours upon his mattress. A firm grip on her hips drove his length into her with a fury. The huntress was letting out small moans and whimpers every time his pelvis slammed into her rump. The toned muscle rippled with every thrust, the display mesmerized the young sailor.
Beatrice turned to look back at him. Longer strands of hair framed and fell across her face, an almost veiled look on her visage. Shamefully his mind did flicker over to the oracle for one brief moment. For the briefest instant, the veiled beauty flashed across his mind. He frowned at himself and focused back on the woman in his bed. Narrowing his eyes slightly he upped the pace of the thrusts he was slamming into her plush rear. When that elicited a tightening and cooing moans the fire in his heart redoubled. He began to thrust into her harder, a slight bit of resistance pressing against the tip of his cock. She’d called it a serax or something, she knew anatomy was not his strong suite.
“Oooh fuck, so deep, c’mon sailor right there!” Beatrice called to him, she bit down on his pillow for a second to keep from screaming her pretty head off. A firm hand wrapped around her throat, pulling her back away from the bedding. Her back arched like a bow from his ministration. The curve he coaxed out of her accentuated the muscles in her back and the slight divot where her spine lay. Her muscular yet feminine form drove him wild. While he admired her form he realized she no longer had anything to quiet the noises she was making. Whining grunts and moans of unrestrained pleasure as her eyes slowly started to roll back. “Oh my gods I love you Wilkes!”
He stole another kiss from her. The huntress melted completely, falling prone from her previous doggy style stance. He laid on top of her, rolling his hips to prone bone the half-orc. The slapping of flesh quieted slightly, but the passion only grew hotter. He felt her writhing beneath him, pushing herself against him for every inch of flesh she could touch. His fingers traced along her side, the warmth of her body radiated into him. No matter how much time he’d spend this close to her, that was something he’d always appreciate. Her walls clenched down on him hungrily. Her breathing was hitched and rapid. She reached over her shoulder to run her fingers through his hair. Laying there with her, feeling the softness of her skin and the warmth of her breath.Totally enraptured by her presence he rapidly pulled himself out of her depths. A dazzle of colors washed over his vision as he fired rope after rope across her back. She cooed softly and shook her rump afterward. Fluttering eyelids and a dreamy expression was all Beatrice had to share afterward.
Just Daisy, her bone, Meryl in full oracle garb, and the kitchen table. The young couple froze and stared at the Oracle. The veil vaguely faced towards them in response. He had to figure out how to sneak some sort of design so he could know which end was truly the front. For all Wilkes could tell she was staring at the wall off to the side behind them.
“I uh, hi, hello. Would you give me a moment?” Wilkes asked nervously as the obscured figure stood ominously in his living room. Rapidly pulling his pants up and over his softening cock. A silent beat and Wilkes found his usual snark again. Deciding to test his luck, he played the bravado card.
“You know I had the decency to be dreaming when I first saw you naked.” the sailor huffed. He poured up three glasses of water, scooped up the remaining clothes, and settled things. Folding the skirt and top, he placed them neatly on his bed. Beatrice was snoring softly, face down in his bed. He would need to wash his sheets after she woke, the idea of dried seed on his sheets made him squeamish. He placed one of the glasses on his bedside table.
“The oracle, that is to say I, did not foresee you naked. You are indeed a shrouded one. How… strange.” Meryl spoke slowly, chewing through her words. Wilkes quirked an eyebrow as he righted the knocked over chair and scooted up to the table. He sat opposite from her now, he leaned his elbows onto the table. Staring intently he didn’t dare to take his eyes off of the oracle. Thinking there might be some strange ploy or magic at play if he let her slip.
“Oh so you’re calling me that now too?”
“I am unsure what you mean by "too", you will elaborate.”
“Like the faceless things.”
"Explain everything. Now."
