Chapter 163 by TheSpectator TheSpectator

Are you able to go again?

I think I can. but I chose to (reluctantly) stop.

When you tell Flora you shouldn’t tease fate any more than you have, she wraps herself around you while sighing deeply from her lungs. “Even though I know you’re right, I do not like it.”

When you wrap an arm around her, you feel the sweat she worked up with have intercourse with you. It was a little bit of an ego boost feeling Flora pressing her body against yours after being kicked around so much by Amara and Alexandra. You rest your head back and let out a sigh of your own. You didn’t want to get up. You didn’t feel like doing anything, but you know that you ought to.

Reluctantly, you push Flora off you, despite her protests, and find your clothes to get dressed up. Flora watches you, putting on her best frown before giving up. Even though it was a good try, she foregoes her attempts and gets dressed too.

Flora lets you out of her room after a short conversation. You suppose you should rally up with Kenji and wait for dinner to be made. Kenji welcomes you back but seems too distracted with what he’s doing to give you any more attention than that. Eventually, Amara comes in and doesn’t give you much attention either. After Amara is Alexandra, who more or less does the same thing, you can’t help but smirk– you’ve gotten away with it!

The last person to join you for dinner is Flora. You can tell she’s taken a shower since you last saw each other. She pulses her eyes at you when she sees you grinning. You sheepishly hide your smile with your hand and duck slightly down in a bow as Kenji announces he’s made curry. This comment makes Alexandra groan.

“You can’t be serious,” she complains. “Every time you’re in charge of the food, you cook the same damn thing.”

Kenji slides a bowl to Flora first and then to Amara before replying. “It’s either me cooking what I know or me messing up for everyone. Which one do you prefer?”

Alexandra hisses, pulling away from the spoon as she blows on the contents in her mouth. “If it meant I wouldn’t burn myself–” she says between chews. “Then I’d rather have you cook something different.”

Kenji shakes his head, unamused with Alexandra. Flora eats without complaint. You can’t tell if she’s enjoying the food or not. For yourself, however, you couldn’t care less about what was put in front of you as long as it was hot, anyway.

After dinner, each member on the table turns in for the night. You’re the first person to retreat to your room. You expected someone to visit you, so you got sat around tinkering with your firearms and organization, but as midnight approached, you realized it was time for you to go to bed too…

When you came to your senses, you were walking down a street. The air was cool, and the environment was welcoming and bright. You didn’t have to guess where you were because you were confident you were where Astrid usually wandered. What did surprise you, however, was that she wasn’t anywhere to be seen.

You stopped and moved out of the way of the people that seemed to drone around pointlessly to fill up the space of this otherwise empty city. You took in the views—the undamaged skyscrapers. The park with its lights. The working cars that drove past you. The stores are all stocked with goods. Candies, treats, and clothes. This wasn’t anything new to you, but seeing it so perfect in an open place was odd.

Nowhere you had been that was the same size was this put together and peaceful. You didn’t see a single cop. You didn’t hear any offensive yelling. You didn’t feel like there was a shred of danger here.

You waited a little longer, looking around expecting Astrid to suddenly appear somewhere, but when she didn’t you thought you should explore the city. There was no telling when you would be brought out again, so there really shouldn’t be a reason to stay in one place too long.

Where do you go?
