I said, are, you, reaaaaady?

"I'm ready".

The words leave John's mouth surrounded in a tone of what appears to be confidence which earns a grin from the readied orc.

"Okay, first lesson, footwork, now, you can be the best wielder of the sword but shoddy footwork will kill you just as well as any blade, so, let's make sure that doesn't happen to you".

"Agreed" John says as he awaits his first instruction.

"Good, now, show me how you would stand to fight" Kyuala instructs.

John nods his head and shifts his feet before making his attempt at a stance.

Kyuala looks at the "stance" and begins to laugh internally but eventually she keeps cool before saying, "Weeeeeeell, it's not great, luckily, you have a solid teacher like me to help you learn".

Kyuala then continues, "Okay, watch and copy me, okay?".

John nods again and Kyuala begins to move her feet into a more stable and powerful looking stance, "Now, copy my stance" Kyuala says.

John looks at the stance and mimics it, it's not perfect however but it's definitely better than his first attempt.

"Good! Now, when I say steel, you go into that stance and then relax again, understand?".

"Got it" John responds.

Kyuala chuckles once before saying, "Steel!"

John then goes to get into his stance but his foot slips a little before properly getting into said stance.

"A little sloppy but that's to be expected, it's exactly why we're doing this, so again, steel!".

John attempts his stance, this time however, he is faster and doesn't slip again which makes him smile before relaxing again.

"Good, steel!".

John gets into stance, quicker than before and with no mistakes and he feels proud as he gazes on Kyuala's ecstatic expression.

"Fantastic! Okay, we will come back to the stance a lot during blocking and striking so keep that in mind, but for now, we move on to defence!".
