Chapter 16

All together, it’s a good day.

I go home with a spring in my step

I enjoy the drive to my apartment. Once there, I undress to my underwear, then do a series of sit-up exercises on my adjustable lifting bench in the corner of my room. Then I shower and walk around the apartment in soft, straight-legged sweatpants

I grab some grapes and cheese, pour a glass of wine from a bottle that has been open a little to long, and sit. The wine was bought for a date that ended up cancelling. I had better enjoy it while I can, pretty soon I will be living on ramen and frozen vegetables.

Tomorrow I need to help Lewis move more of his junk from his mom’s place. I haven’t seen his family in a while. Last I saw, his mom was still getting her feet back under herself after the divorce. I hope she has been doing better lately. His sister started college last year, then recently bailed on it, so I think she is living with her mom again. I have mixed feelings about seeing her again.

Later, I lay on my bed. The high of the day has faded a bit. I pull my sweatpants down and start to edge myself again.

Who do I think about?
