I ask her.

“Hey sis. Gina was recently turned and to complete the process she needs your blood. Can you come over to feed her?” I ask my sister. She doesn’t respond.

“Um, sis, you there?” I ask again, worryingly.

I hear a knock at the door. It is Jessie.

“Hey boss, your sister went home for the night. It is 2am, by the way.” Jessie replies. I frantically look at the time, shocked to see how a few bites lasted over 3 hours.

“So Jessie, this is Gina. She was recently turned and needs human blood. I know you are not a fan of vampires outside your boyfriend, but can you do this small favour?” I ask Jessie.

Jessie’s boyfriend is George, her barman and vampire partner.

Jessie looks around the room. Annie is finishing her meal, wiping her face and licking the wounds of her **** dinner. Gina is smiling with her pale skin shining in the light above her.

“I’ll ask George if he wants a bite from you, too?” I add.
