Your intention?
I'm not sure I have one
"I'm not sure I have one," you answer, honestly. "Does there always need to be one?"
She smirks. "I suppose, in my world, there often does. Perhaps it's unfair to apply that to you, Ryan."
For a moment you feel like she's seeing through you, that unsureness of what direction you're going in, what you should major in or who you should be. Then she turns away and says, "Ryan, I have very strong intentions for today. I need to prepare myself mentally and physically for all the tasks ahead. Once you feel a certainty about yourself, approach me again. This isn't a 'no.' If anything, it's an invitation."
It still feels like a rejection. But you nod. She has somewhere she needs to be. And as for you...? Well, your intention clearly was not strong enough.
You watch her go, unable to look fully away from that huge ass. Then you head back to your dorm room, thinking about what might have been with Yasmin (or, according to her, what might still be possible) as you go.
