Yasmin

You run after Yasmin, trying not to get hypnotized by the sight of her giant ass, visibly jiggling underneath her yoga pants. When you reach her, you're half-worried she'll tell you she's "busy" like everyone else. Instead, she turns and smiles at you.

"Ryan," she says, as she walks across the campus green with you. "We missed each other last class, didn't we?"

"And this one," you confirm.

"Hmm." She looks off into the sky, as if considering something. "My sacral chakra still isn't aligned. I think it's causing problems for my focus, this week. I've been trying to brute **** my way through it, but that's not the way to do anything, is it?"

"Sure," you say, regardless of whether you understand what she's talking about.

She examines you, and then volunteers something. "You know, you actually listen to me. Or at least let me talk about these things. That's appreciated."

There's a level of self-awareness in that that you honestly didn't expect. Maybe it was wrong to assume that she was totally buried in her own woo-woo world, unable to see outside of it.

"I mean, you believe in it," you say, with a shrug. "Most people don't believe in anything, anymore. So I guess it's refreshing?"

You aren't sure whether you agree with that, as you say it. Admittedly she has said some weird stuff. But then she gives you a wide smile, showing perfect white teeth that contrast her brown skin, and you decide at once: Yes. You meant it.

"Thank you, Ryan. How's your week been going?"

"Stressful here, too." You scratch the back of your head. "I guess it makes sense. This isn't high school. It isn't lockdown anymore, either. I'm just waiting for the party, to let loose."

"Do you have an invitation?" she asks.

"That's what I didn't understand. Is it invite-only?"

"It is," she nods. Then considers. "You know, as a member of a sorority, I could invite you. And I think I will. Your presence would be welcome, there."

Well, regardless of whether you had an invite, you now have one. "Thank you, it means a lot!"

"No problem, Ryan," her smile is soft again, the teeth gone. She stops with you near the university fountain, where groups of students are sitting around, hanging out, even eating lunch together and picnicking. "So I have a question, then. Have you set an intention for this?"

"Uh. What?" you ask.

"Sorry." She sighs, demonstrating again that self-awareness you hadn't known she possessed. "I mean: What are your intentions for this interaction--for me--right now?"
