Chapter 24 by Akabra Akabra

"Stay tuned for the next exciting chapter of The Gamer"

Hypertonic Lion Tamer

John spent his time afterwards meditating to recover his mana. He was wondering what the nympho Jasmine had planned. While he only knew her for barely a day, the woman was clearly very promiscuous, even Gaia said as much.

He recovered quickly thanks to his well fed buff and meditation skill. John rose from where he was seated. “I’m ready, so what’s next?” he asked confidently, looking at the elder and his three adoptive daughters.

Cyril smirked, seeing the young man’s conviction. “Good, good, I like that look in your eyes, kid. I’m still curious about your powers, so we’ll move onto your unique barriers”. Before the man could finish speaking, he noticed John’s mana move. “That won’t…” he started, but the youth disappeared before his eyes.

The Gamer had cast his Create/Destroy Barrier skill, nearly instantly being enveloped in a white light. When he opened his eyes there was white everywhere. He blinked a few times in confusion. Just as he was making heads or tails of what had happened, he heard the sultry voice of Jasmine behind him.

“Wow, John, you keep getting more and more surprising. You created a barrier within another barrier. Only high level Fateweavers can do that.”

The Gamer turned to look at the woman to see a familiar structure before him. It was a simple building with a golden dome for a roof and a giant clock on the front of the dome. Two side rooms extended on its left and right, to either side of the building were giant golden hourglasses. As he stood there staring at such an iconic building to nerds, the other three people made their way in. Each person gave their own gasps and shocked responses at what had happened.

“John Newman, you are an anomaly. Not only did you make a barrier within another, this place seems vast, and it’s overflowing with mana. I was expecting something similar to what Jasmine described to me, an altered landscape with unique creatures present. This result is still shocking. I shudder to think about how annoying it will be for enemies to catch you when you’re strong enough to prevent their entry.” The elderly man gave the young man a strong pat on the back.

Just before John had a chance to respond, a quest notification appeared before him.

New quest: Hype Ebonics Rhyme Chamber
This room doesn’t work the same as the one you are imagining. Here your proficiency in skills advances faster. Your HP and MP recover much faster. No time dilation. This is more of a gift than a quest. Use the next 10 hours to train with those women in preparation for your chat tonight. Use your time wisely, I don’t give gifts like this regularly. I’ll give you all fifteen minutes to deliberate before I start the ten hour timer.
Reward depends on how much effort you put in. Upon completion a grade ranking from F to S+ will be given.

“Dibs!” came Sonia’s excited yell.

“Calm down, Sonia, we have a few minutes to iron everything out,” Reimi said, shaking her head at her sister.

The elder looked at his daughters who all showed varying signs of excitement. “What exactly happened?”

Jasmine, who was smirking with a devilish grin, responded to her adoptive father, “Well, this space was apparently a training space gifted to John by Gaia. She gave him a quest to be trained by the three of us for the next ten hours.”

“Pretty much what Jasmine said, sir. Supposedly I’ll have an increased recovery rate, and my overall growth would be increased. Too bad there’s no monsters to hunt, I’d probably gain a boat load of levels with these conditions.”

“Oh, come on, John, as a fellow gamer I’m sure you understand why. Gaia already gave you this busted training ground, do you really think she’d also dump on free experience?” The pink haired nerd hypothesized. “Honestly, you should be thankful for this, because after your fight with Sonia earlier, I wouldn’t have let you leave tonight.”

The redhead with twin tails nodded in agreement. “It wouldn't have been in your or our best interest. Even now, I’m unsure, but we have ten hours in here, plus another three afterwards before the man that kidnapped your friend usually appears. Plenty of time for me to hammer some basics into you,” the battle junkie exclaimed in elation whilst cracking her knuckles.

“To make this fair, we should each train him for three hours and give him a one hour break for lunch,” the mocha skinned nympho suggested, while taking a long drag on her pipe.

“I agree, and since I called dibs, I get the first go at him!” Sonia’s excitement was evident as she walked over to the Gamer; however, the pink haired girl walked between them.

“Hold on, Sonia. Honestly speaking, I should go first if we want him to have the best chance at growth. I know you’re both excited for your own reasons, but I’m the one who is most knowledgeable. While I may not be a combatant, my mana control and technique is way more precise than everyone here’s bar father’s,” Reimi declared whilst blocking her sister.

“If anyone should go first, it should be me. I found John and I’m the one he trusts the most. Isn’t that right, John?” the ebony woman inquired, but everyone present could guess by the lust in her eyes that she had suggested that for her own interest.

John huffed, and looked at the elderly man with pleading eyes. “We don’t have much time before Gaia starts the countdown, can’t we quickly come to an agreement?” the Gamer asked, still hoping the girl's adoptive father would mediate.

Cyril chuckled. “Well, since Gaia decided to exclude me from this, probably because you aren’t ready to be trained by me, I’d suggest you do Reimi, then Sonia and finally Jasmine. Your mana control does need the most growth and Reimi would definitely be the best bet for that; as a technomancer, that’s her specialty. Sonia’s combat fundamentals are the best amongst you, and she’s an excellent coach for new martial artists. While Jasmine is the least experienced, she would be the best to have last because she has the most versatile skill set of the three. Jasmine will also help you implement what you learned from the other two.”

Sonia and Jasmine were clearly sulking, but nodded in agreement with their father’s suggestion. “My thoughts exactly, Father,” Reimi exclaimed. “As long as Jasmine doesn’t get greedy and focuses on trying to level up his sex related skills,” the pink haired nerd joked cheerfully.

This brought out a burst of laughter as everyone including the father nodded in agreement to Reimi’s statement. Even Jasmine herself at first nodded. “Wait, hey! I’m not a total slut.”

“Yeah, only a partial one,” Sonia chided, which brought another round of laughter.

“Ok, so I’ll train with Reimi first, then we’ll break for lunch. After lunch I’ll train with Sonia, and finish things up with Jasmine. Sounds like a plan,” John said in agreement to the father’s plan. After that the group relaxed for a few minutes. When the fifteen minutes were up, the giant hour glasses on both ends of the building flipped over.

“While you all do that, I’ll go and get some work done. No point spending ten hours watching a few brats train. I look forward to your progress, John,” Cyril excused himself before disappearing.

Unbeknownst to the Gamer, the three women in his party had a second notification that only they could see.
