Hunting Rifle

Danielle grabs the long weapon, her bare hands barely gripping onto the frame as she fumbles around the safe floor for a box of ammunition. As she had seen her deceased father use these weapons before, she had a slight inkling of how to use them. However, the weapon was far heavier than she had expected, and she took a long time trying to shove the bullet into the weapon chamber. With a lot of difficulty, Danielle finally manages to pull the bolt.

Danielle fumbles up the stairs, reaching the doorway to her bedroom, where the struggle has stopped, because Jason lies motionless on the floor, his mouth wipe open as his torso is ripped open and being consumed like sushi by her own mother.

Danielle cries in shock, her legs trembling as she feels her grip on the rifle slipping.

Her mother turns around to face her, mouth dripping with blood and bits, smiling menacingly. "Don't worry, Dani sunshine." Gloria laughs. "I punished him greatly."

"Fucking-" Danielle shakes her head in disbelief. She raises the weapon haphazardly in the rough direction of her mother. This monster, whatever it is, this ain't her mom. "Stop!" Danielle screams.

Gloria begins to stand up. "It's too late, my girl." She laughs. "You are now one of us."

"STOP!" Danielle screams again. "MOM! STOP!"

Gloria doesn't stop. She takes increasing faster paces towards her own daughter.

"FUCKING STOP!" Danielle screams again and raise the rifle.

Gloria smiles, and lunges at her own daughter. "Hug mEEEE!! HNNGGH!" She exclaims as her body thrusts itself towards Danielle.

BAM! The rifle fires, but Danielle misses entirely. The weapon clicks empty, and Danielle attempts to angle it to block her mother, but the woman manages to land on her as the girls struggle until their weight pulls both of them over the railing towards the first floor. With a loud thud, Danielle lands on her head, cracking it.
