Chapter 4 by thestarwarrior thestarwarrior

And then the odd shit begins...

Hunter takes stock.

As she looked around, she spotted a blackened firepit, along with a few other signs of habitation. Granted, it looked like whoever set this camp was long gone, but still, at least she now knew that there were other people in these woods. Perhaps civilization wasn’t far away.

Next to the pit, she spotted a belt and a strange black book, possibly forgotten by the last inhabitant of the campsite. The belt had a sword scabbard along with a small empty pack, while the book was eradiating some kind of odd glow. She reached down for the belt and carefully picked it up off the ground. It was lightweight though a little rough on her skin. Clearly, it was meant to be worn with a pair of pants, which unfortunately Hunter didn’t have, so she had to make due.

She tied the belt snuggly around her hips, the thick leather rubbing up against her nude hips as she shifted around. Hopefully, she could find some clothes or at least something to make into garments, before her hips started chafing.

As she adjusted the belt, Hunter suddenly realized that it was getting awfully dark out. Strang, she could have sworn it was dusk just a moment ago. If she knew that it was going to get dark so quickly, she would have focused on setting a fire, if she could find some flint.

With nothing but the stars and the glow of the strange book to guide her, she picked up the book and made her way over to a nearby tree. She was hoping that the book was some kind of journal and that it could tell her what happened to the camper. After sitting down at the base of the tree, she opened the book and started to read.

(Used 1 action to pick up and read the book)

What does the book say?
