Hunter: The Vigil
Hunter: The Vigil is a game in the New World of Darkness / Chronicles of Darkness product line, focusing on regular human beings taking on the things that go bump in the night. The most notable difference between Hunter: The Vigil and its Old World of Darkness counterpart, Hunter: The Reckoning, is that the former focuses much more on that underdog feel of ordinary people fighting the supernatural.
This can be overstated somewhat, since Hunter: The Vigil has the scope for much more supernaturally-powered player characters but, whereas Hunter: The Reckoning focuses on a group of people imbued with power to fight evil, a standard player character in Hunter: The Vigil is mechanically identical to a regular mortal from the core rulebook. Hunters are only guaranteed some additional experience and tactics, basically special teamwork-based prepared actions.
The last big thing to mention is The Slasher Chronicle. In the game's first edition, slashers came in the form of a separate supplement but in second edition they are fully integrated into the base game. A slasher is halfway between a hunter and a monster. They're really cool and they capture the feel of an old school movie slasher (hence the name) really well, starting as regular people with a predilection for murder (called "Rippers") but eventually transforming into supernatural killing machines (called "Scourges"). Becoming a Slasher effectively represents a unique failure-state for a Hunter.
