Tritera : "the key to magic is channeling a caster's energy through the resonance of a natural rod. Casters will commonly use staffs for spell craft that takes a large resonance or wands for more precise work or where the form factor of a staff is unwieldy"

She is reciting this as if memorized from teaching a thousand classes of young students something they probably already mostly knew.
