Hope For Luck

Cursing under my breath, I set off around the room, quickly checking the bars and poker tables, in the hopes that Ruby was hitting on someone there.

Seeing a waiter, I stopped to ask him ''Hey, have you seen a woman here, my kind of build, black hair, pale skin, dressed casual same as me?''

He pointed me towards the slot machines and I started to make my way towards them, looking down the aisles of machines and planning to grab Ruby and drag her out of here

I found her standing at the side of one of the machines, talking to a man and woman. The guy was sitting on the stool with the woman standing behind him, her arms draped around him.

''So, how long are you guys here for?'' Ruby was asking the couple

''Oh just a few days, a friend recommended it for our honeymoon'' The man answered, turning his head to look up at his wife

''Wow, congratulations you guys, hope you've been enjoying your stay'' Ruby said

''It's been great and the sex has been amazing'' The wife responded, eliciting a worried look from her husband. ''Not that it wasn't before'' she continued ''But this place really knows how to spice things up''

''Well, that's definitely...''

''Whoo, yes!'' The man interrupted Ruby as he celebrated a winning result. The screen at the top of the machine giving a readout

Stamina boost

''That should be fun, honey'' The wife smiled, kissing him on the back of his head

''Hey, Ruby, I think we should get moving'' I said as I got closer

''Excuse my rude friend here. This is Lola, she's a showgirl here too''

''Hey! Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl, with yellow feathers in her hair...'' The wife rolled her eyes at her husbands outburst of singing ''C'mon, you know... Like in the song?'' He looked around for approval from anyone, his wife patting him on the shoulder as he sheepishly turned back towards the machine.

Meanwhile I was containing my annoyance at the all to familiar reminder that my name, or maybe my job choice, was a terrible mistake. ''Yeah, just like the song'' I muttered.

The wife, stepped towards me, greeting me with a very mediterranean kiss on either cheek ''Pleased to meet you Lola, I'm Helena and our singer here is Charles. Say hi honey''

The husband turned towards me ''Hi, umm, sorry about...''

''It's fine I get it all the time'' I said, waving off his apology.

''Aww, crap'' Charles said as the machine landed on a mismatch. Again, the overhead display lit up, giving another readout.

Everhard

''Wha... Oh shit'' His tone quickly shifted as he stood up as if someone had spilled a drink on him. The bulge in the front of his pants becoming immediately obvious.

''Damn, you're a lucky woman'' Ruby said, leaning toward Helena

''Yes, yes I am'' Helena stepped up close to her husband, placing one hand over his crotch ''Now let's go see just what that last loss did, huh?''

Charles was clearly flustered ''Well... I, uh... But, I can't just keep this'' He said, pointing downwards

''Not even for me?'' His wife said, making puppy dog eyes up at him.

''You're right, that's a problem for later. See you girls some other time, we're gonna go, umm...'' Charles looked to Helena as if checking for approval of what he was about to say.

''Charles here is going to do his duty as a husband. Would you girls like to come along?'' The wife asked

''Yes!''

''No'' Ruby glared at me as I answered at the same time as her. ''Sorry, we just have a few things we need to do. You enjoy your stay though'' I explained to the couple

''Well, thank you, we will. Bye girls!'' Helena said as she walked off, her husband staying behind her to hide the tent in his pants.

''Oh, just once, please? Just go with it once?'' Ruby was moaning at me

''We need to find Kristen first, then you can fuck whoever you like, okay?'' My response left Ruby grumbilng discontently.

''Fine, no sex until then, right?''

''Right'' I responded, glad to finally be getting somewhere.

''Right'' She said, sitting down at the slot machine.

''Ruby'' I said in a stern tone

''You said no sex. Okay. But I say we don't leave the slots until we've played at least once each, okay?'' She said, a smug smile on her face at having turned things around on me.

''No, Ruby we have to...'' As I started to speak, she huffed and crossed her arms, looking away from me.

''Real mature Ruby, now come on'' I said, tugging gently at her arm.

''Not until we play, two turns each'' She said, still not looking my way

Faced with the choice of suffering some random changes or having to come back and search for Ruby after finding Kristen, I relented.

''Fine, but only two'' I let go of her arm and stood behind her as she readied to pull the lever and set the machine rolling.
