Chapter 12
by Nom Nom Nom de Plume
How comfortable are the accomodations?
Honestly? You've Seen Worse
As you are led through the corridors of the Ebony Sky, you are struck by how large this ship is. Multiple levels, many cabins. Everything is stylish and richly decorated. It would appear Vodix is a man of both wealth and taste. The size of the ship makes it difficult to memorize the layout as you pass through, but you've been aboard enough starships that you're confident you can find your way out if you escape.
WHEN. When you escape. You remind yourself not to lose hope yet.
You're impressed when you reach the brig. When Vodix said accomodations, you assumed that smile was hiding a euphemism. You have to hand it to him though, the man knows how to treat a prisoner.
A small pull out personal waste processor, comfy bed. Are these sheets Naboo silk? If it wasn't for the bars behind the sliding doors, this cell is more comfortable than your cabin.
You aren't exactly shocked when they take your blaster pistol, but you are slightly annoyed when they take your coat and belt. You just smile rougishly when they pull out the vibroblade hidden in your boot.
The guards perform the usual quick scans to verify you have no holdout blasters or grenades tucked away where the sun don't shine, but before long they are gone, leaving you to contemplate what the hell you are going to do now.
You make one key decision first. You intend to finish Ranna's job and bring Tekka home, and will keep that option open as long as it is possible to do so. Your word means something, and when you take a job you see it through.
The way you see it, the basic plan is simple.
Step one: Find a way out of the brig.
Step two: Find Tekka's cabin.
Step three: Convince her to come with you, or knock her ****.
Step four: Sneak or fight your way off the ship.
See? The general plan is simple. Only four steps. It's a those pesky details that are bringing you down.
You set your mind to getting out if your prison. The bars seem pretty thick, and the door on the other side doesnt open by any mechanism you can see. There is, however, a small window, allowing you to see outside or call for a guard.
You have a few options. The first you think of is to call for help, say it's an emergency, and try to overpower the guards. It's an oldie, but a goodie, and it's gotten you out of scrapes like this before. There's always the risk that if your guard is competent you may end up shot, but it's the most proactive choice.
You can bide your time, and see what happens. It's risky, but anything can happen given time. Maybe Timik and Rogo will realize you are gone, or a rival gang will attack the ship, providing a diversion. That sort of thing happens all the time, why not now? Of course, if nothing changes and Vodix comes for questioning, you'll have to try and convince him there's been a misunderstanding. This option might take longer, and there's the distinct possibility you wind up tortured by Vodix if it doesnt pay off, but it's an option.
There's also... no. You push that thought away. It's too stupid. Right? But when you really think about it... you've had a lot of things break your way until now on this job. That can't be a coincidence can it? It's like you have been guided here by a ****. A **** that flows through everything. You joked about being a Jedi with Ranna, but with the order destroyed, isn't it possible there was just no one around to find and train you? No, you shake your head. That's just desperation talk... right?
How do you try to get out of the cell?
