Home away from home

You and the girls get settled into the guest quarters, basically a second mansion. You have to admit, this is probably the nicest accommodations you’ve been in since leaving home. Certainly better than the ship, or the cabin in Hope, and far better than the warehouse! The girls all seem to appreciate it, picking rooms quickly.

After getting settled, and a quick stop to bathe, you gather Ferra and Kaeli to go speak with Lira. As you exit, you see the rest of the girls enjoying the respite in different ways. Alex and Cassie bounce on the soft bed, laughing. You’re certain that won’t stay innocent for long. Nadia has found a small library, and is relaxing near a window with a book, a content smile on her face. The surprise is Melora and Sarah, who you catch watching you and whispering to each other. When you look at them, they both simply smile at you.

You chuckle, leaving them to their plotting. As you walk, Kaeli turns to you. “I had seen glimpses before, but now that I’m here, I can really see that you’re all one big family.”

You smile. “I’ve been extremely lucky. Every one of the girls is special to me. And it’s more than sex, great though that is. I wouldn’t be here if not for them. And they do the same for each other.”

Ferra nods. “We are bonded to master, but we care for each other nearly as much. It is…nice. But master always comes first.”

The golem girl takes your hand and squeezes. You smile at her, and Kaeli watches with interest. “As I told you, I’ve never really been a part of something like this. It may take me a while to adjust.”

You nod. “Take all the time you need. And if Alex or Cassie get to be too much, just say something, they’ll tone it down.”

Kaeli looks at you curiously. “Why those two specifically?”

You laugh. “Energy to spare, and they’re both younger and more playful than the others. Nadia is quite a bit older, so for a faerie she’s very calm. Melora has seen a lot, and her second sight tends to require a calm nature. And Sarah…well, let’s just say that despite her intimidating appearance, she’s willing to let others take charge.”

Nadia seems to think for a moment. “And what of you two?”

Three.

You glance at Ferra. “Well, Ferra is special. It’s hard to describe, but essentially she was molded by interacting with me. Although I think Alex has taught her a few tricks.”

Ferra cocks her head. “You seemed to enjoy those ‘tricks’, master.”

You chuckle. “I did indeed. And as for me, I’ll try to let you make the first move. Like you did in the lake.”

Kaeli smiles. “A fair point. Very well, I will spend some time getting to know the others. After all, they’re hardly unattractive.”

Ohh, I like where this is going!

You laugh. “That’s the spirit. And take all the time you need. You have a lot of past to get through.”

Kaeli nods, looking at the Gitanna mansion. “Agreed. For now, though, there are things to do.”
