Danyssa stood waiting. She had specifically requested those reports yesterday, hadn’t she? Frustrating. Arthur was a good employee, and she was happy to let him run the department as he saw fit. She’d even sent over a person from the temp agency to help him with the extra workload. Granted, shifting the work of an entire department onto two people wasn’t exactly fair… but it was cost effective. She leaned against his desk. She would have to remind him who signed his checks around here, and if she asked for something he damn well better deliver it. She remembered when she hired him, with his scrawny frame stuffed into a suit at least a size too large. He was fresh out of college and so new and shiny. She couldn’t wait to mold him into another rung to step up the corporate ladder.

She was young for someone who had climbed that high. The people who crossed her called her the devil, and obvious visual similarities aside, she really was. Those that called her that to her face wound up in HR for discriminating language. She had one of the dark hued blues typical of a tiefling. Her black curved horns swept back and up through her platinum blonde hair. Half moon spectacles balanced on her nose and a thin silver chain hung between her cleavage, disappearing down beneath her low cut blouse.

Arthur still arrived early despite his fruitless detour. “Mr. Penn. I asked for those reports yesterday, didn’t I?” It wasn’t really a question, but… was he taller? She almost lost her train of thought. It was still definitely Arthur, but she almost didn’t recognize him. Absurd. He looked so chiseled, and like he had to be poured into his clothes. She tried to think back. Yes. He must have always looked this good. She thought back to his interview. He had always been so… perfect. That was probably why she’d hired him she thought.

“Right, Ms. Shiavereth I’ll have them by the end of the day.” She didn’t move. Something was wrong, but she couldn’t tell what it was. “Hmm, very well. I sent Kira to another department. I really was only able to spare her for the day” No need to keep them together after all. “I hope that you got some work out of her.” Arthur shrugged and suppressed a chuckle, when she stepped forward suddenly, “and for the love of the gods don’t let people see you go home with a coworker. The gossip mill never stops turning.” This is a lesson he needs to learn she thought as she drove a finger into his chest to underscore her point. He wasn’t fast enough to stop her. The second her finger touched his chest she froze, and Arthur recognized the look of someone deep in a trance.
