Chapter 4 by VTheImpaler VTheImpaler

Who’s “nook” does Dobby clean first?

Hermione’s, while she’s crashed in the common room after studying

Dobby goes to work immediately, thoroughly cleaning every crack and crevice in the stone walls. Eventually night falls, and Dobby finds himself entering the Gryffindor Common room along his route. The room is peaceful and silent, only the quiet crackling of the fire in the hearth casting dim flickering light into the room.

Dobby hums a happy little tune as he tours the room, gently maintaining the wrinkles and splits in the full red and gold wallpaper which stretches throughout the room. Abruptly, he halts his cleaning and cuts the melody short, his floppy ears perking up to confirm the disturbance he has just heard. There it is again, Dobby’s ears swivel to the source, and he follows them, finding not an intruder - to his relief - but a snoring Hermione.

She lays face first on a thick arithmancy book with her heap of curly brown hair spread out messily over the table. The sound emanates from her, a long low snore which blows a lock of hair free of the bunch. Dobby sees that her nose and lip are pressed upwards by the pressure of the desk, distorting her face into an unintended drooling snarl.

Dobby looks at her mouth, smooshed and puckered by gravity, and remarks quietly to himself, “That certainly looks like a nook… or maybe a cranny?” He glances over to her chair, which she is nearly slouching off the edge of, and notices her pants have slipped partway down her waist, “Oh, never mind, that’s a cranny!” he decrees upon seeing the tapered end of her buttcrack peeking out of her waistline. He doesn’t know while, but his own mouth waters and he feels a great urge to explore Hermione’s sleeping body to see what else he might discover.

Which hole does he pick?
