Syd allowed himself to breathe a sigh of relief when he realized he wasn't going to drain Margot against his will but then quickly redoubled his efforts of "connecting" with her and restimulating her circulation acting like a sort of cardiopulmonary bypass machine while also cutting off and absorbing any excess blood vessels to prevent unnecessary blood loss and necrosis. Syd didn't have the mental capacity to ponder the meaning behind that last notification but even distracted as he was he could still guess the suggestion was likely counterproductive to his goal so he refused again. In response, he got bombarded by a new torrent of messages.

Syd paused, this one sounded important, letting go of his senses now did seem wise, he doubted it but there was a small chance he would mess up something with Margot not to mention someone had attacked the two women already, and while they had left Syd alone they might have just waited for the most optional time to strike. On the other hand, going along with something that threatened to cause "Irreversible damage" to his ego didn't seem particularly clever either, besides, even if he was able to resist this how "conscious" could he be while trying to hold on to his "self"?

Both options seemed like terrible ideas but those were his only choices... No, there was one more option available to him he just didn't want to see it. He could disengage from Margot now, ensuring he retained both his ego and consciousness but risking killing Margot in the process.
