(John's PoV)
Mat serves the tomato basil soup in three bowls, one for her, one for me, one for Maria. It smells delicious. She cut and served three pieces of roast with fresh bread. We sit with Mat on my left and Maria on my right at the head of the rectangular table. The three of us have something in common, no one at this table is wearing a bra.

"Thanks for the food!" Maria says before we dig in. The soup is as delicious as it smells, goes perfect with the beef roast.

"It was so fun to see you guys at work!" Mat says while she watches Maria. "You make a sexy librarian."

"Thanks." Maria and I both say at the same time. Mat giggles at our response, she must've meant Maria. Mat makes other chatter as the two of us who exercised today focus on the meal. When my bowl gets low, Mat takes my bowl and returns with more delicious soup. She reaches for Maria's bowl only for Maria to tap her hand with her spoon.

Mat leads Maria to the kitchen. Maria returns with a full bowl of soup and two pieces of roast, one of which she places on my plate.

Mat, already finished with her meal, continues talking about shopping or stores or something. Maria and I take turns responding with 'uh-huh' or 'interesting' in between bites.
