Chapter 7

Who do you believe?
Help the Man
Harpies are known for being deceitful and malevolent. The people in your village often told tales of the bird women **** helpless people, torturing the women and children while they breed with the men. That rings true with what the man just said and besides everyone knows that only Harpies can reach their eyries on the top of dangerous cliffs, the landscape is impassible for humans. They mean to deceive you.
With that in mind you draw and fire an arrow. The shaft flies through the air and strikes directly into one of the Harpies. The bird woman screeches in pain as your arrows hits her on the wings. Crippled she tries to fly away but the man takes advantage of the situation and finishes her off with a swipe.
The other harpy realizing that she's outnumbered flies off.
"You'll regret helping him whore, the flock will make you pay", she screams.
Unwilling to take a risk you notch and fire again. The arrow buffets against the winds and flies short of its target. You mutter a bitter curse at your failure before pulling out an arrow from the dead harpy.
"Hurry, we must leave", the man says pulling your hand.
"It won't be long before she comes back with more harpies, we need to reach my town if we mean to live"
"Where is your town" you ask, curious where the warrior comes from.
"To the west noble lady, near the base of the mountain. If we hurry we can reach it before the Harpies come back.
On the base of the mountain, if you go with him you would lose all the progress you made towards the Druids. But if you don't go with him the harpies would make short work of you if you're found by them. Maybe if you hurry you can find a shelter to hide from the harpies ?
Should you go with the man or travel through the mountain more ?
