Help Alexandra

“I’m doing this then,” you say with your hands extended out. “Get out of her, Scarlet. I’m helping Alexandra.”

Scarlet looks at you with disgust and then shock. “What? No. No don’t. She’s dead weight now. Just leave her and leave with me.”

“I’m under a contract. If I don’t at least try, I’m causing friction between me and my signature.”

Scarlet continues to look at you and then at the door. “Warren, I’m still going back to others.”

“Wh-what do you mean? You’re going to kill me and return to the others as if nothing happened!?” Alexandra wails.

There’s no response to her question, but there is a long pause as you study her wound. It’s messy, but you know you can at least stop the bleeding. Scarlet swallows, watching your hands steam with Alexandra’s blood. “{first_name], listen to me, please. This isn’t going to work–”

“I can’t do that! Run away. Get away from the ARS.” You remember what Jordyn told you and sigh. “Find a new path and get away from contracting. At the very least, get out of this syndicate. I think things are going to get worse, regardless of this shooting or not.”

“This isn’t right, though.” Scarlet murmurs, lowering her gun.

“If you don’t leave now, then someone is going to die.” You say.

She watches you get out your field dressing and apply it to the bullet wound. Then a heavy sigh washes from her lungs. “You have company incoming. If you don’t leave this building and escape, both of you are goners.”

“Who’s coming?” You say, distracted by the gun wound on Alexandra’s leg.

“Bandits,” she says. “Same group, the TC1 guys, dusted when we first made contact with them. They’re different… we made…” she trails off, her mind else whereas she regards the door behind her now.

Alexandra whimpers, holding a gauze to her leg while you tourniquet above the wound. “You can run away, or you can help by drawing their attention for a few seconds.”
