Heist gone wrong (introduction)

This chapter is written from Linna's pov. These events start the story; I didn't play them out using PF2. I will start next chapter. This is to introduce things a bit and set the tone; if you don't like the themes in this chapter it's unlikely you will like the story.

Here I was, standing before the manor, searching for an entrance in the dead of night. The more I looked at it, the more I felt something was wrong. This whole job was suspicious. I had to get inside and retrieve a red book, and "I'd know it once I saw it". That's it. That's the only information the broker had been able to give me. He also made it clear not to ask anyone about anything related to the manor as it would raise suspicion. I had tried looking in the city's archives when no one was around, but nothing turned up.
