Chapter 5 by SilverSpectre006 SilverSpectre006

Back at the forest...

Heed the Cry of the Forest

Sans bit her tongue, brainstorming on what her first step would be. To heed the cry of the forest was one thing, without question she would become its protector, but how? Being an outcast all her life, only to now expose herself into the outside world she spent her entire life observing, it drove her mad with the shivers.

"Ugh, this hero business was something he knew better on. What would he think?" The dryad thought carefully, memories of her beloved flooding back to their youth when she would listen to him gloat about how he would bring about peace between monster girls and man alike. About how he would be their hero and how she would admire his determination, being raised a monster hunter only to be a pacifist in a way. It was awfully cute, she loved every second watching him puff out his chest like some kind of knight at the age of twelve.

Those were younger days at a younger age when the world was not so complex.

But this was now, and he was off on his own adventure, nowhere to be found.

"No matter, it is not his call but mine and mine alone to answer. Who knows how many Dryads remain, or if I am perhaps the last one. I cannot cower back in retreat and stand idly by as this blight unfolds."

A baby lynx leaped from a nearby branch and onto her shoulder, wrapping its fluffy tail around her neck for balance and support. It mewed into her ear, singing its own song as she heard its voice and gave a puzzled look.

"I suppose I don't have a clue where to begin, but perhaps I am over thinking things. If the forest was the one to warn me of the blight, perhaps they can point me to a clear direction, to show me where my path leads."

The lynx rubbed its ears, meowing in return. Sans smiled and kneeled down, her green hands digging into the soft dirt beneath her. With a grip of her fingers, she slowly began swaying her hands in motion, sliding into the dirt to draw several glyphs up and around where she lay. The small feline leaped out from the dryad and sat back, curious to see what this Dryad was up to.

"Kai'o Terra, Magu S'Sera."

Frantically her arms continued before forming two sigils where her hands were. Then clapping her hands together, she closed her eyes and concentrated, reciting the enchantment to continue the call.

"Kiiyu Mayu, S'Sera Q'Ta."

The lynx leaped into the air before scurrying back up the branch of an old tree, its claws digging into the bark as the ground beneath them trembled. Small vines slipped from the dirt, wrapping around the Dryads green slim wrists before attaching themselves to her flesh. Sans gasped upon gaining the eye of the forest, able to detect the mana leaking out from this growing blight a number of meters away.

No, she needed to search further. Where was the source coming from...

In her mental image came the sight of a man wheeling in a cart of neatly placed flowers atop of pots. At first glance, they could be mistaken as sunflowers, bright and yellow standing proud and glorious in its strong form and wide petals. But this took a more orange tone, and the petals definitely glowed in a similar manner as the vines she saw earlier had.

The image faded away once her connection was lost. Sans opened her eyes, looking down to see the vines now detached from her and limp on the grass. No matter, she knew what to do now. This was man's doing, and sold like some sort of farmers market. Little did they know of the horrifying effects of this plant.

"That's it, I must find this village and take action against the Blight, discover a way to cure us of its effects and be done with it. I have my heading!" She smiled triumphantly, standing on her two feet.

The lynx squeaked and meowed from up above, sat neatly on a high branch looking down at the fellow monster girl.

"Oh, I suppose so." Sans admitted, looking down at her figure. So long she spent living amongst the wildlife and the trees, that she had forgotten the customs of the public world. She held a beautiful green figure, but completely nude for all to see her privates. Small perky breasts, a slight fuzz above her private region, and a neat tushy to complete the beauty gifted to her.

"Well, how would I cover myself? I suppose... a little imagination will have to make do."

Looking around, she approached the tree where the Lynx sat perched upon before placing a hand at its base. A slight green hue flowed from her hand and into the tree, before its bark moved into her forearm and crawling over her body as if in a liquid state. The wood gripped her waist and body, hugging her form before sealing itself into a unique design. Peeling her hand away, she stood giggling to herself as the wood formed itself into a makeshift outfit, hugging her breasts and splitting into two, a nice top and a wooden skirt that protruded from her waist, covering her thighs so as to conceal her naked figure beneath.

Ta-da, she was clothed now sort of.

"There, with a tad bit of imagination and some forest magic, anything is possible little one." She grinned nodding her head at the young lynx. "And now, my destiny awaits. Farewell, little one, may you find peace in happiness where fate takes you. For like my beloved, I too shall follow into the steps of a hero. A Monster Girl out to save others, what a laugh." She chuckled to herself, stepping forward towards her destination.

The first step leading to a path of convergence.
